Do you have a big enough paddock behind the manor that we could use?

The moat around the property will be perfect for closed training sessions.

What is this? A centre for ants?!

How can we be expected to teach players to kick a goal... if they can't even fit inside the building?

The building has to be at least... three times bigger than this!

I hope the wires have been crossed somehow but talking to someone in the Premiers office and they told me that there is no way this goes ahead. I am hoping he just means there is no way they get funding from the Govt but will wait and see.

That’s the sort of [censored] info you get when you speak to “someone” who has no knowledge or responsibility in a govt Dept.

Probably hasn’t  even considered the community advantages and facilities included in this proposal. Oh and don’t forget the 25 dog  walkers who will want bins for their pooches offloadings!!

Where the funds do come from is another question, however.

I thought we had the money we just couldn't find a location

Artist impressions don’t have to be practical. Lol.!!!

The 'someone' is directly involved in the decision making process that probably wouldn't want me posting on a public forum their name, phone number, position etc.

Either way, probably no need to post your response 5 times...

The Goody Centre for players who can't kick good and who want to learn other stuff too (personal brand inclusive).

Could we also brand the kitchen/catering facilities the Petracca cooking academy or something in line with his branding?

This is good news and is moving in the right direction. Certainly we are much closer today than we were in my lifetime to getting a permanent home.

The issue will this is that everyone wants the space to be utilised and that the current status quo needs to change. dees are putting forward a shared public and MFC space. This is exactly what the council wants. Can’t see what the objection is other than funding.

Keeping out the filthy aspects of society, ie those who wear black and white

I'm sure I'm not the only one that is super deflated by this.

I don't trust their economic nous either to bring the financing puzzle together.

That's it for me, then! Your deflation and financial nous has me rethinking if I want to join you on planet outrage!

Nice to know that things are progressing, but it still seems like there's still at least a minimum two year wait until construction starts (that is if this next stage in the process gets the all clear).

Caulfield is a substantial improvement over Casey, but I still wish we were given the go ahead to redevelop Gosch's to include our own facilities instead.

So it's still peak MFCSS in here? [censored]. The $$$ will already be pretty much locked in.

not surprised by the amount of negativity

i am going to guess that we will wait for a year to have the business case approved before first sods turned 2026; building open in 2030

What is this based on?

The business case is to come.

There should be multiple co-financing avenues with the multiple racing clubs, MCC, state, federal and even local govs, the AFL and our own cash injections, but this is a commercial team that struggled to get a short's sponsor for a team that had finished top 4 three years in a row and won a flag.

As for MFCSS, it's actually just a lack of trust now sullied over multiple years by the administration, nothing to do with the football side of things. At least not for me.

The images do look good. I do wonder what the rest rooms will be like.

how surprising.  i'm so sad you are super deflated, adam

Great to see progress finally! Business case to be sorted by mid next year

Will be fantastic to have a base in Melbourne!

and yet I've come across plenty of tiger snakes in eastern suburbs around parklands and waterways :)

I didn't say there were none. Just more common in north and west.

I'm confused by this. Why are we waiting a year for the business case to be made if the financing has already come through.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
