Tom Browne 'reporting' there's no structural damage and likely a few weeks.

He does get a bit wrong though and he did clarify by saying the Dees haven't said anything yet.

If Tom Browne is saying two weeks  I reckon it will probably be longer - no confidence with this bloke.  Miracles can happen so hopefully he is right. Come on Gawny tells us it is OK.

People losing their minds without even knowing the severity. Calm down until it’s been confirmed how serious the injury is.

Well I'd be a bit calmer if it wasn't for the fact that the person who broke the news well  in advance of anyone  Docs Demon reported Gawn in "a fair bit of pain. Contact could hear him yelling."  I'm not sure if it is better if he was screaming in pain or frustration.

Wasn't he the bloke that got called out by Reiwoldt? Gave the results of the scan before he'd even had it? And then just went with "I trust my sources"

Hoping all is well with Max.

But this does highlight why having a mature, fit, big-bodied ruckman at Casey was a very good list management decision by the club.

Many were calling for Preuss to be traded last trade week, but a moment like this highlights how essential (but hopefully not needed) he is.

So it’s good then that he got injured, so he doesn’t get injured?

A more positive-leaning take...

"Melbourne sent All-Australian ruckman Max Gawn for scans after he left the track on the Sunshine Coast with a sore left knee on Friday.

The Demons said the scans were precautionary as it was not obvious what was causing the soreness and they remain optimistic at this stage."

As I mentioned in initial post I trust and hope it is only a minor problem. Will be at Maroochy on Sunday along with family and hopefully Big Maxy is there and feeling better.

Pain might be good. They often say acls etc don't involve a huge amount of pain

I sincerely trust my contact at Maroochy is completely wrong but he told me Maxy left training today with what appears to be a knee injury. He was in rooms getting attention and in a fair bit of pain. Contact could hear him yelling. Let's hope for the best as nothing out in media as yet. Unconfirmed.

From the original post which has been proved correct...soreness might be an understatement.

Might be. But I don't think that either the 'contact' or The Age have had access to the scans, so I'm waiting until then.

Yeah for sure, knee on knee contact or jarring hurts more than an ACL

I suppose that’s a good sign as most club doctors can normally get a sense if it’s an ACL or not. It’s why most suspected ACLs always become ACLs because the scan often just confirms what the medical team already know.

Not the last trade season.  The coming trading season;  possibly back to Qld,  and we trade another mature one in, with more skills.

Who knows,  we might be able to deal with the Suns come end of 2020.?

I think Preussy will get a bit of game time to build his game in 2020.  Which might add something to his market value.

Look forward and upward.   Not stay as we are.

Exactly,  'AtboG'

The scans will be to confirm 2ndary injured areas,  if any,  and severity of injury.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
