Lots of "no" there. Who should we be going after?

Going by Goat's attitude, he will want us to chase prime Wayne Carey and then blame the club when we can't do it.

If we are trying to create a sustainable culture then we shouldn't be going for any players that have a checked past & especially players that are over 28. Youth.....

Cut & dry for me.....not sure if that's right but we are not good enough to exercise the risk involved.....IMO

Risk? We'd be picking him up for next to nothing on a 1 yr contract - if he never plays a senior match, what exactly have we lost?

Some on here would say the "plot"

There's a bloke playing full forward for Geelong with a chequered past, over 28, who i think we would chase.........

Still didn't answer "who" specifically we should be going for.

is brown still a go if we go after Jackson in the draft?

Yes. Preseason or rookie, I would think.

We cannot put all hopes in 18 yr olds, to perform from day 1.

Well clearly youth which would involve pick >100 in the ND

Mitch Brown would be on base payment circa $180k for a depth type game player. But his 2019 again showed he can play and strongly contribute.  Bargain for money imo.

Not against it good insurance and may actually be good alongside weid and tmac to take off pressure

Yeah decent back up pick up for free. Much better than Jenkins so I'm okay with it.

I wonder what the world record for picking up delisted free agents are in one year, benell, Murray and brown haha

I think we pulled out. No idea why or even exactly when, it was buried in a few other articles about a week ago.

GC need to keep looking at AFL and MFC websites

Don't miss out on much also Demonlander  is good most of the time!!

Smart move to have him train on especially whilst Petty and Weideman aren't at full fitness and whilst the odds of Bennell are still heavily against Harley getting through preseason yet alone playing games.

I'd invite a bunch of players to train and see who demands a list spot.

Could be a bit like Cam Pedersen and also can go back in defence.

Handy depth who will give his all if we take him as a rookie.0

Listen to the SEN app GC. It’s great for info.

I think this is very shrewd business by the MFC. Can't lose on this one.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
