Rumour in WA is With Our Pick #3 W Coast and Freo are BOTH DESPERATE FOR IT to swap with Geelong and are prepared to use  either of these players get Kelly if this is correct which player  would be best for us .

Neither is a pick 3 candidate.  It would need to be player plus their first rounder plus steak knives to even get close.

Hopefully we are seeing teams that are desperate for currency, and we can leverage that to our advantage.  An old bidding war for pick 3...

We should look at all options, Eagles are the ones that are desperate  for early pick to secure Tim Kelly. We hold the whip hand on all  of this, pressure is on the FD to make hay while the sun shines.

Have heard the Gaff rumour, nothing concrete but has been mentioned as a way to trump Freo, by somehow getting the pick.

For a website riddled with misinformation; Demonland can, at times, be quite educational.

What are your thoughts on the likelihood, and merits, of packaging Petrucelle into the deal?

Gaff and Petrucelle for pick 3 I would do in a heartbeat

Petrucelle would be a great get, liked his final against the Cats. With the Rioli situation and Bolton extending at Richmond you would think Eagles would be very keen to keep him now.

I’ve made some inquiries and been informed that Gaff’s teammates nicknamed him ‘Basil’  due to his love of Margherita Pizza.

Could be something in this.

I know there has been discussions about West Coast needing to Trade Out to meet Geelong's Trade Price. And I know Gaff has been thrown up as a possibility if required. (Note: These are what general people have mentioned, not what has been discussed in clubland.)

But, the only way I ever see it happening is if West Coast get dead frightened that Freo could convince him to go there. I like the idea of Gaff, but if we have a good year next year, we may be able to get him as a Free Agent because of his clause.

Also, I can't see Freo trading out their future player (Brayshaw) for a player that is 25+ (Kelly). They would want both of them in their midfield, especially after losing Hill and Langdon. I would expect they would offer Pick 6 and 7, not go after Pick 3 with more players.

Andrew Brayshaw was pick 2 and now has 50 odd games under his belt.

Out of interest why do people say he wouldn't be worth pick 3?

Thanks

It’s the same people who think Frost is worth an early second rounder. They rate our players too high and opposition players too low.

So far it's looked like one of the poorer top 5 drafts I can remember. Like his brother, kicking is a major issue.

The Weagles are going to have to do something because Geelong would love to get their hands on the two top 10 picks the Dockers are going to have.

Extra speed/fitness compared to Gus means he can run well on the wing or half forward but his kicking is just as bad. At this stage he’s looking like a similar player to Langdon.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 13th November 2024

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
