A yawnfest, or will Big Max take home Charlie tonight? I suspect only if Charlie Spargo is his plus 1.

And should the AFL consider changing the voting, perhaps including the coaches in the voting system?

Massive yawnfest. Might switch it on about 1030 tonight so I can get to sleep.

Is it just me or is the Brownlow losing its relevance? It’ll just go to the midfielder who had the most amount of disposals.

I hope so as I put cash on Treloar to surprise everyone paying $21

Lost it relevance years ago.

yawn.......

Is there any award show that isn't a yawn.

Never could understand why people watched them.

As a separate issue there is "the award" itself.  It's nice but..........

Mind you the system is better than the MFC BnF

People ringing in SEN saying Max is a shoe in, take it to the bank..........

...ok ...who was it!??

One of the turd polishers?

I suppose I'm boring, but I enjoyed it when it was all about football; I enjoyed reliving the seasons matches.

Now it seems it is about everything but football.  They rush through the rounds as quickly as possible so they can get to the next WAG, musical number or 'comedy' skit.

It might be seen as a yawnfest to some, but it is still consistently one of the highest rating TV programs of the year. I note the AFL or Channel 7 (or both) have said they are making some changes to it this year to stop it dragging on so long. It will be interesting to see what they are. (Mind you, I won't be watching as I'll be working. But in interests of full disclosure, if I wasn't working I would be watching. I can't explain why, but I always find it strangely compelling.)

My prediction? Patrick Cripps.

And most votes for a Melbourne player: Max Gawn

Seeing as we don't have votes now decided by "Fairest and Best" is there one player in the Supposed Top Ten that would qualify? i wonder..........

Our attendees:

Nathan Jones, Max Gawn, Clayton Oliver, Bayley Fritsch, Jack Viney

Fritsch there for MOTY, perhaps?

How many more of these would we have seen if he had played forward all year!

Would love to see him win it, if that is why he is invited.

Just read our best chances on the AFL website, and it says best chance Maxy, then according to the AFL Jesse Hogan is next . Yes it says Jesse Hogan.

WTF!

I know that defenders don't win Brownlow's but given that Rich won 16 games and Dylan Grimes was one of the few that played nearly every game he would have to poll well.  And, not many stars to take votes from him so he would have to be roughy to be on the podium; maybe do a Gus Brayshaw as the Tigers haven't included him to go tonight!

Surely to goodness she doesn't move from the forward line next year. He is a natural forward. Let's hope his time down back has helped him round out his game.

Have to say, Matisse Stynes does  a great job with the media.  Obviously she's had a lot of practice by now, but she speaks really well.

Just to cheer up all those deespondent folks about the Club's immediate future or previous decades in the football wilderness.

We are ranked second bottom career (cumulative) Brownlow votes of the original twelve clubs making up the Victorian Football League pre-AFL. Eagles are closing fast must be all those hometown votes from umpire Margents ?.

Career Brownlow votes by club
5570 GEEL
5503 COLL
5462 CARL
5418 HAW
5416 ESS
5291 STH/SYD
5065 NTH
5059 WBD
5055 RICH
