Why were Stretch ...anb and spargo picked......10 touches bw them?

Its not their poor performance but more the prediction of it.

I don't understand how this builds confidence or momentum putting such a [censored] side on the paddock

And people shot down my thread about needing a rebuild. Love for those people to tell us now where our improvement is going to come from.

I wasn’t one of them but my thoughts are that some tough calls need to be made.

We can’t carry Jones next year.

Hopefully we get pick 2 and use it, not to be on traded.

Trade Petracca (I know I’ve said this before, apologies....)and package him up with a future pick and make a bold play for some class off half back to replace Hibberd.

Draft in not one but two small indigenous fwds. We need some energy and creativity  up fwd.

Not all the answers but a start.

19 actually - and both way ahead of a lot of other players who you could have named. But didn't.

It has rained a little and preuss is useless

Except Preuss took Alir Alir our of the game completely last time and managed to kick a couple of goals too, so credit where it is due

After 30 years of continuous membership I am not renewing. Had enough. Turned over to the cricket and that’s no better.

Not gunna barrack for the Tassie Devils then ?

That where we're heading.

Something else I’ve noticed about our players is how often they go to ground in one on one situations. Once you go to ground you’re immediately stuffed if you don’t win it.

Is it bad core strength or something that’s being taught?

I agree . But then i watched preuss play his last game and he couldn’t even pick the ball up

Pre game pep talk would have been tricky

alright you lot don’t try too hard we have a number 2 pick on the line

yeah no worries we’ve been doing that all year

Been like that for years.

In all honesty is Goodwin safe for next year? Yes there will be a big payout but the club is burning money with this rubbish. Pert was bemoaning there was still 12000 MCC members who hadn’t signed up as MFC members this year, wait till next year and you can bet Jag will be running away at the speed of light too.

Playing on at all costs against the best tackling team in the league?

Tactically we are pretty basic.

I reckon Goodwin would be a good local footy coach, “just be strong around the footy boys!”

Thats his answer to everything

Tackle difference 17-9 this qtr, 44-27 for the 1/2 Second last in the comp in tackle difference. Last month lost inside 50s by 16, last in the Comp. Goodwin problem is with you as your game plan sucks!

He has destroyed the foundations of Roos & turned this list into a rabble only 3 years after he took over!

Utter disgrace that this guy continues to coach our club into oblivion once again!

ZERO CONFIDENCE IMPARTED BY COACHES AND LEADERS.

SCREW MY DOG THIS IS FARCICAL!!

If that is correct BA then the contrast of output / quality is astonishing between quarters.

Goody looks completely lost for answers in the box and shows no emotions at any point.  I would be furious at some of the passages of play as a team and from many individuals tonight.

Get to the bench, attempt to at least show them / highlight where they are going wrong immediately while the errors are still fresh and highlighting the alternative ways available to improve as a team and individual.

Totally agree.

Special guest Mark Neeld gave another world class pre game rev up.

Thats about where we are at right now in terms of on field action.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
