I think it is a ‘watch this space’ in the trade period with Ben King! Richo could have some influence here...

Dees Should dangle 12 & 14 (if we acquire from GWS) and a player(s) in return for King and a 2nd round pick they will receive for Martin or Achee.

Sorry, I'm missing something. Why would Richo be of help when Ben King plays for GCS?

The romance of playing alongside his brother would be nice but I also don't see why Ben would want to go to the Saints. It would be near on impossible to develop 2 baby giraffes in the same forward line and Ben would probably end up down back again as he was in their junior careers.

If the AFL do the right thing and refuse the priority pick we then have a way for the Suns to get the 2 guys they want in the draft.

In fact given the AFL's love of a negotiated outcome I'd go to them and say we'll put pick 2 on the table for Ben King (maybe part of a bigger deal) so the Suns can get the 2 best mates with the top 2 picks. That's what I'd be doing if I were Josh Mahoney - assuming the club rates King higher than the pick 3 we might be in line to get.

have thought the exact same thing re: him playing for the Saints.

Because Alan Richardson spent 8 months with his brother Max..

Duh....

Also because Max did his rehab at St Kilda before being drafted. I believe Ben spent time there helping him as well as doing his own weight training.

If we can wait a couple of years, his younger brother Wayne is playing for the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup and by all reports will be a gun KPF.

Well if we maintain our current ladder position, we are probably a big chance to get him.

Waybe King? Get your hand off it mate.

I heard Richard Head was the player to watch.

Well, we know if we make the finals next season, we’ll land him with pick 2 in 2021.

Apparently very strong in the forearms.

The innuendo is great everyone but I hope there's some actual news soon.

Have you heard anything @Chook in Perth?

Wayne, Gary and James are the best players I have ever seen.

Nathan was good, but not as good as the others and will always be the bridesmaids.

A Saints mate is absolutely certain, that Ben King will join his brother at the Saints in 2021.

Pretty sure no one called Wayne was born after the mid 1970's.

Wayne Rooney is the only one I can think of

Why don't we trade pick 3/player to GCS for King/2nd, and then let them to the pick splitting with GWS. Might save us some man hours to do other stuff lol

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
