what the hell is oscar doing out there, he is a joke as a ruckman. lever if his is not kicking to our opponents his crashing the pack taking out our own players without getting the ball out of bounds. Jones, well what can you say about nothing. turnovers are killing us again and again, when will they learn

Regardless of anything else, bottom handful are under where they need to be. Melksham (OK, coming back from injury), but Dunkley, Baker, JKH not giving enough and/or turning the ball over.

I reckon JHK has done more than Gus, Jones and Oliver today to be honest.

Melksham clearly not ready for AFL. Gawn looks like he’s done with this rabble of a team for the season and now poor Oscar has to have his confidence destroyed further by rucking against Grundy.

I’m slow roasting a pork belly this afternoon.

Jeez the filth are an ordinary team but we are just pure [censored]. Where is Track this quarter?

In the forward line. Where the ball hasn’t been.

Dont you even think about start laying into him.

His kicking turnovers have nothing to do with up field turnovers. For exame hs kick to Grundy came after he had marked the ball. Had all the time in the world and still miskicked. Poor technique.

Maybe I am being a bit tough on him. But Lever is our highest paid player and he is being killed by mioeck and his kicking is a real issue.

Cant defend

Cant score

Good to see we are consistent, boys deserve some credit for that

Don't disagree - but for whatever reason, he's often a really poor decision maker once he gets it.

Don't disagree, he's not the only one. Oliver kicked it out on the fall from a free kick with no pressure. And he's going to be on a hell of a lot more money than Lever in a year or two.

Nathan Jones 0 tackles again. 2nd week running. Yet his quabbling about 260K

Agreed, doesn't really have a 'show me the money' look about it does it.

For a brief moment I thought OMAC was going to take the backup ruck job, then it all went pear shaped.

Goodwin should head to the Genius Bar in the offseason and trade in OMAC for an iMac and design a new gameplan for 2020 success.

We were set up for the switch too. He is supposed to be looking for that, instead kicked straight down  to Grundy leading to a Pies goal.

You pick up only on his turnovers.

I don't get it.

Yes, he most definitely needs to tidy up his kicking at times but think about how many goals or opportunities at goal he has saved by either making a genuine killer spoil, intercept marking or out-bodying his opponent to mark.

Lever has been very very good this game aside from a few kicking blunders.

You obviously missed where he turned the ball over and cost us a goal. JKH no future at all

Can’t beleive we payed 2 first rounders for Lever. Is constantly in no mans land.

I feel alot more comfortable with Hore rather than Lever as our third tall.  This said you don't play someone like Lever in the VFL for more than a week or two and will be better for the run.

Could be having a semi-retirement up at Surfers Paradise for a few years...

Quite a fascinating  reverse of fortunes

1st qtr. We actually  looked half way decen as we controlled the ball...couldn't  kick for [censored] but hey. Still ...looked much better.  But interestingly still a single paced qtr.

2nd qtr Filth worked out how to break our wall...just up the tempo and work rate and our dubious fragile skills all fall apart.  Filth vary the tempo a little finding theirway through and we start fluffing and fumbling like schoolkids again.

Very few of our lot have good vision. Talj about putting your mates under the gun !!

Need to make some moves now. .or over red rover.

On the plus side Omac actually looked decent up forward...in the first quarter.

0 tackles for Jones in the last 2 matches. Not going to win when our captain is producing [censored] like that. Completely in self preservation mode.

0 pressure whatsoever, whoever is on Jones knows he isn’t at risk of being caught.

And only 2 tackles from the last five games.

Bit harsh on Oscar. He has been serviceable. TRac  disappeared that quarter  because Hibberd Viney and Lever are stuffing up "the connectivity"

In fact Oscar has been competitive in Fwd line. Provides a bigger target. He will be handy as backup swingman.

Lever seems only good when he ia by himself , not a strong 1 on 1 . Hibberd has lost pace and confidence. JKH, Wagner both compeitive and committed.

Yeh. About as good as Gus's handball to that invisible guy we have playing...

Unfortunately the first thing I thought when he kicked it.

And our forward line is brimming with talent atm is it?

We would be as close to par with the current Pies forward line as you are ever likely to see in this team's generation coach and they blew us away in 20 minutes of bog ordinary footy.

If you wish to delude yourself that everything will be fine because a year date will change on a calender that is your prerogative.

Oscar into the ruck and HF?  What  possible benefit / message is that sending the rest of the playing group?

I know what i would be thinking.

Maybe we should rename ourselves the Melbourne Excuses?  How about the DumbAzzes?  The Rabbles?

I wonder if max has a hand/wrist injury

Never seen a player get so many life lines like OMac. Could take your pick at any VFL player and they would perform better. It’s utterly bizarre

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
