Loved how dangerous he looked at stoppages in the forward half. Imagine when big Gawn is there to Tap to advantage.

My eye was drawn to him like Eddie or Cyril

Had  a big impact in his first ever game despite only having 6 possession.  Such is the importance of forward pressure.

Scary to think how good he will be in a few years.  You can see he has the drive and passion.  Hes hard as nails too.    And nevermind his freakish skills.

How many goal and mark of the year contenders will this kid have over his career?  I say many.

This is why Cyril was such an exciting player. He would only win the ball 10-15 times during the game, but it's his frenetic and chaos tackling pressure that would put the fear into opposition players.

Pickett is exactly that player. This could be another bargain Clayton Oliver like pick from Taylor.

Noticed kid-Pickett was often in good position on the weekend but hardly ever called for the ball, sometimes with his head down or looking in another direction. Was overlooked on a couple of occasions as well (Tomald) despite being the obvious option.

If he nailed that second shot I suspect he would have popped up for one or two more. Club needs to find a way to jack up his confidence pronto, and let his natural mojo come to the fore. I have no idea what the immediate solution might be.

You can offer someone licence but it doesn't mean they will grab it. Perhaps if we gave him the simple target of taking x number of shots per match or x number of runs? - the threat of an odd sidestep can disrupt the defence even without kicking for goal.

He's a super quiet and shy kid, so hopefully as he matures he comes out of his shell a bit. Reminds me of young Aaron Davey, who was very quiet but came out of his shell and became a leader towards the end of his career.

I agree if he'd kicked the second one, I think we would've seen his confidence grow and he probably would've got on the end of a few more.

That training excercise on the sand where his teammates helped him get through it, should be invaluable for his confidence

He needs to watch it a few times

His Teammates want him out there, as long as he is hungry to contribute

The players seem to love him.

Every one that was interviewed on Saturday gave him a big wrap.

Kossie or pick 10 in a compromised draft where no-one has played for a year...hmm....

Go to 7:25 to see the Velvet Sledgehammer and Damian Barrett raving about Kozzie.    The impact he had with just 12 disposals was phenomenal.

Serious serious talent is Kozzie.

Said right from the start he is as close to Jeff Farmer as I think I've seen. Has a bit of Eddie Betts in him as well.

Remember when a few on here said we made the wrong call picking Pickett ahead of Weightman after his first game ?‍♂️?‍♂️ can someone please tag those people on here.

Hes not the right selection. Mistake.  Georgiades is making him look silly

No E Kossie was and IS the right selection for MFC

We needed a small classy forward to crumb the ball and we have now got a Farmer/ Betts/Cyril/DAvey clone who is only a boy really.

Harder to recruit Kossies than Georgiadis and get it right.

We have a very special talent anX factor and highly skilled player fir hopefully a decade to contribute ultimate success for our Club.

Snd Kossie creates excitement for us and fear for the opposition!

BTW I actually rate Gorgiadis but have no doubt that Kossie is the right No 10 we picked.

Thank you Jason Taylor.

With that hair and the 36 on his back, it's like having Flash running around again ?

Loved his tackling all day and his bad [censored] attitude gave every person he tackled a little push shove and rough up great to see

His forward line pressure is fantastic

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
