Probably already been discussed but Frost or Petty forward today??

I hope we don't play either forward.

Maybe Frost to the wing. I want to see a smaller forward line hopefully Hannan petracca hunt are the go to guys which means we will lower our eyes and be forced to hit a target. Gawn/ pruess the last resort option

He's also a gun key forward, and we don't need a ton of tall defenders against the Dogs.

Not saying it will happen, but out of Frost, Petty, Lever and May, I would say he's the best forward option.

May can play big and small.. He  is a thinker...he can intelligently sum up the play and do something constructive.. Take him out of the backline and it WON'T matter who is up front...they'll never see it

Would only be a 'break glass in case of emergency" kinda deal, just saying that if we move a defender forward, I think it will be him.

Their forward line is hopeless, and our backline is stacked. Can’t see them scoring enough. We win this

I shall be viewing this game from the ever warm and welcoming bosom of The Manor.

It will interesting to watch the impact Preuss up forward. I do not expect him or Max to kick a bag as they will be swarmed by defenders whenever the pill gets anywhere near. The ball will come to ground.

However, hopefully the likes of Hannan, Petracca, Brayshaw and Hunt will be presented with resultant opportunities.

I will not be surprised if we get a sneaky win out of this.

If we are close at 3/4 time, I shall lock the maid up.

Uncle If you lock her up can I come over, I have rare liquid refreshment and I know you just Love my taste in Music

I shall be attending.

Tried to get BBO to attend with me, but he couldn't stop complaining about the weather, the time slot, Docklands stadium, the great unwashed in GA.... blah, blah, blah.

It's hard to maintain interest in his conversation at the best of times, let alone the 2 hours it takes to put on his make up before the game. Those poor kids at the face painting booth get very frustrated with his selfishness.

Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to face the rain on my Pat Malone. Phew!

Petty if we have to.

We need to be getting games into May, Frost and Lever (along with Hibberd, Jetta and Salem, and Hore if/when we can) as a defensive unit.

Yeah that's a great point. I'd obviously prefer that, but if we're moving a defender forward it probably means we're pretty much screwed so I think all that stuff goes out the window as far as Goody is concerned.

Has Petty played forward at all for Casey? I know Keilty got tried at both ends for a while, but any idea if Petty has shown anything at that end?

Hope your right but who s going to kick our goals or enough to win.

Another game I decided to watch from home. Between our form, the cold and the lack of trains it’s a TV game kinda day.

Will be interesting to see Petty forward. Can’t see how we can kick a winning score today, but luckily the dogs aren’t big scorers either.

Gawn and preuss should dominate the ruck today. Our midfield should get first hands on it.

Yeah goody said on mmm petty will go forward.  That will be interesting.  I'm also looking forward to seeing what hannan can do today.

Good to have jetta back

All these people saying the Dogs have no forwards have t obviously been paying attention to Naughton. The young guy is a gun.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
