Well done Frosty. Keep sticking it up the haters & the doubters.  Played on their talls as well as Walters at various times and was terrific.  Doubtless, the haters will only focus on the 2 mistakes instead of the 10 positives.

Was interesting to see May barking at the players in the back 50 and setting them up from all standing bunched together.

Just need to focus on the younger players and hope like hell they learn to settle and calmly hit their target.

Noticed that, who does he think he is Jordan Lewis ?

But that is the value of experience, because Lever is only 70 games approx and some people expect him to be the backline guru

Frosty was great. Can we please move Frisch forward, his disposal is still a worry down back,

Agree on both.

Frost's last quarter arguably won us the game.

From the top of the ponsford I had a great view of his intercept mark in the last. Made the decision early and backed himself in, then made the next kick. Critical contest as we scored a terrific gogoa l after to tacking it down the ground.

I want fritter kicking the ball to out forwards.

Petty was excellent and May played well. Marty hore was solid again.

Jones should still be ashamed for that 50 metre penalty. I just watched it a couple of times

shocking to do that

Maybe, but only becuase Walters flops every game

The turn-around in form from a handful who have been down was good.  Lockhart and May were very good.  The desperation was good.  Flying the flag for team-mates was very good.  Hope next week is good!

Didn't mean to put a downer on it for you guys who watch for the wins in pointless games in failed seasons. Enjoy it.

Just my opinion that we were fortunate with their injuries. Obviously a win is a good outcome.

It’s just pathetic that it’s your first and only response to a win. You deserved the whack you got for it.

Yeah, we were fortunate they were two down. Thanks Captain Obvious. Doesn’t mean we absolutely would’ve lost without it. So what you said isn’t even true.

Fritsch has gotta stay wing/forward, he had some ripper kicks inside 50 today (whilst also acknowledging some average ones).

Just plain dumb by a captain who should know better. Walters was always going to go down like he had been shot.

Yep, we have lost plenty due to injury during a game. I have no problem enjoying this result.

Wouldn't have won in Freo weren't two players down.

Even when we win, we can't win.

If anyone wants some extra likes for their posts, just hit me up with a PM before this Chivas wears off.

MFC got me in the mood

:P

As everyone tells us on here, injuries, no excuse!

Seriously   I cannot pick my nose !    that's what you get supporting Demons for any length of time.   Perspective disappears.

Well done,   indeed      'Aint the feeling great,   I can smile easily for the next few days     Go Dees !!!

I will read all this later

One of our biggest weaknesses is on field leadership and organization. We got Lever and May not only for their footballing ability, but because they’re leaders and generals. Great to see May organizing troops and playing well again today. He’ll be a huge asset for the backline for the next few years. Love him!

Petracca had a great game today. Really got involved and threw his weight around. Great to see him switched on for longer periods and staying involved. Hopefully this is the start of his return to damaging form.

It's the story of the year.

Leading the inside 50's and not kicking enough score to win.

Maybe this is the resurgence with Viney, TMac and Weed doing well

Just of late, Petracca seems to have developed a footy IQ. I've been negative about him for a little while now but there are small signs in regards to getting into the right spot, making smart decisions and not trying to do too much in possession.

12 point turnaround

Not what a captain should do.

Do it after the goal is scored at least!!

Feels good to have a win.

Goes to show that when players such as Viney and McDonald play to their potential we look a much better side.

Forward line looked much better, with a bit more space and good movement.

Dumb and all as it was...

It was better than the first game against Port where we stood by and watched Max cop it from them without a whimper.

At least we had some passion in the game and Jones was supporting a teammate.

If I had my choice I would take this.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
