What a dumb post!

So we play 1/2 a side next week do we?

We’ve got 14 injuries and 3 concussions doubtful from last night and you want to drop both captains

Take a breath and wake up

Edited by Billy

No change unless concussed guys don’t get up. Lever another week at Casey. Preuss first in if any injuries.

Need to reward a great competive effort and best we’ve played all year

Gee what an interesting observation and u know what the answer is dont you!??

Also Re Fritta as natural a HALF FORWARD FLANKER as I have ever seen.

Reminds me of Robs younger brother Tom Flower who was also a beautiful left footer. Once kicked 5 On a flank vs the Filth!

Just saying

Starting to question Goodwin’s coaching ability, ANB not up to it but continues to get a game, Maynard should be given a go in his place. Brayshaw is a gun in and under midfielder, why play out of position, he’s not a winger FFS, Fritsch is a forward, and there is much more

i don't remember him at all; before my time - literally finished the year i was born, but given that tom flower didn't even make 30 games i think fritsch has him beat already :)

but i'm disagreeing that fritsch is a natural half-forward (something my mother vehemently disagrees with me with, so yr not alone there amongst other fans @picket fence) - he's much better off playing as the defensive wingman floating back at this stage, as he doesn't tackle or chase

have a look at ryan's workrate by comparison when he took that hanger; he left him for dead at the previous countest - fritsch's second efforts are hit-and-miss

anyway, back to the changes at hand, preuss was strong around the contest in the vfl and is a man mountain but his fitness is pretty bad - did nothing in the last at all (was he on the bench?) from what i saw on the live stream, but i must admit that as they started to dominate my interest started to wane

corey wagner was busy enough

lever looked slow at the contest, as to be expected, but that mark early on was seriously nice and his kicking was clean - i'd give him another 3/4 game then full game at lower level but i reckon he could be right for either adelaide in the alice or the filth on qb

hoping heaps that salem - any reports on how serious it was? - will be right, but tim smith and anb looked seriously cooked on the bench and mandatory concussion protocol should mean that they miss next week, nine day break or not

be interesting to see what they do with lewis if his ankle is good to go

Thank the heavens hes gone at seasons end.

Not much at Casey as you would expect after the thumping they took.

Preuss had a decent game but nowhere near as dominant as last week.

Casey smalls need to learn how to play to Preuss' contested marking in the forward line. On at least two occasions near me while he didn't take the mark his height advantage allowed him to put the ball anywhere to advantage but no Melbourne/Casey player in the right position.

No one really put their hand up at Casey.  Sparrow was wasteful with disposal.  Preuss started well, but gave away 3 frees in their 50 leading to shots on goal.  Lever moves well, and is a class above, but didnt do too much.  Jordon, Chandler and Bedford not pushing the selectors to pick them yet.  Kielty looks better for the run at AFL level, and competed pretty well.  Looked like they also had him down back in the second half, where he was less influential.

We looked much faster out of our defense without Lewis

Goody actually coached well last night, shut down McGovern until we ran out of players, they couldn't get any free movement and had we finished better we could have won by a fair margin. Harsh call on ANB given he barely played a third of the game

You do realise ANB plays a high half forward role that requires gut running workrate to work up and down the ground. Maynard is completely different type of player who is an inside mid who is slow and has poor skills. I watched him in the VFL today and he will be delisted at years end.

You want Brayshaw to play inside and Maynard to come in who is purely an inside mid. They can't all play there. And we have finally struck a bit of a better balance between inside v outside.

Maynard isn't AFL standard. He will be delisted.

Filling in Petty's spot,  and supporting Lever coming back.  Did Lever play the whole game ??

Came on 15 minute mark first quarter.  Played 80 minutes

Brayshaw’s a better kick than what he showed tonight, wouldn’t say I’m worried about him yet but someone should try to get ahead of any bad habits he might be starting to get in his game.

Maybe one of our best clearance specialists has been shifted to sideways to accommodate the Captain ??

Hard to know who comes in yet but at this stage you’d think Smith, ANB, and Salem all have clouds over them from concussion.

Lockhart and Stretch would be two performance wise I’d put in the firing line.

You have to be joking about Lockart. Over the last three weeks he has shown a lot of improvement. Give him a break

Stretch played his last game for the club.. he will go out for Wagner.. no other change unless required.

In: Preuss in, Lewis, Corey Wagner

Out: 3 x Concussions

Wow that’s 19 injuries if Anb Salem Smith miss.  Salem and ANB didn’t look or appear that bad.

On the basis of those changes it’s a weak team obviously with half of best 22 out.

Lockhart* omcd* Hore*

Lewis Frost j Wagner*

Brayshaw. Viney. Stretch*

 Petracca Tmcd Lockhart*

Garlett* Preuss* Fritsch

Gawn Harmes Oliver

Njones Petty* c Wagner* Baker*

11 key players missing from best 22.

I think 5 of our best 10 are out.

Missing out of my best 22...  Hibberd. Salem. Jetta. Melksham.  Lever. Weideman. May.  Anb. Jsmith. Vandenburg. Hannan

That's right he slams players heads into the turf, trips them up, kicks their feet etc etc,

If we got a group of 10 certain posters on here in a room, the footy IQ level may just reach double figures

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
