I'd like to agree with you but then why is he apologising?

Assume it's because he has agreed with the team to do every little this possible to lift to the standards required to be elite including staying off the P15s...

If so then this is simply an example of not being able to do all the things required, and not being true to his word... poor for $800k plus and already pathetically behind expectations

Fair point you make...

will wait to see what the club says, I don’t have much faith in Tom Morris fact reporting

What I find most disappointing in all this is the lack of some grainy strip club footage where he is stuffing some of his ill gotten gains into a ripper’s g-banger whilst whispering sweet nothings

Been at the club for 6 months not in shape, decides to a have a drinking session whilst being injured in a public place, not the smartest cookie is he?

He better be ready when he gets back, he owes this footy club big time.

Few pints on a Sunday afternoon? Stand to be corrected but this has got over-the-top outrage written all over it.

Won't someone think of the children!!!

Roos is right, Footy is clearly not his priority.

Turns up unfit

Drinking session while in rehab.

Not the habits of a professional 700k a year athlete, who is trying to prove himself at his new club

Makes you wonder how [censored] the culture was at Gold Coast.

They didnt give a toss if they lost as long as the party life was always available to them.

So in Rehab, turned up Pre Season UNFIT, and now Glug Glugging when in REHAB.

Can we TEAR up his deal???

If TRUE?? serious serious questions remain!

750 Gs for this bloke SERIOUSLY??

Over and out IMV!

Tom Morris is just jealous he has no mates to go for a beer with. If he is a journalist with any integrity, I have played 300 elite games at AFL level. What an overreaction

He is taking Hogan’s position on our list a little bit too literally !

Maybe but the facts and pictures remain. He put himself in this position.

Disappointing either way.

Tom Morris = absolute [censored]

Agree he is a grub of the highest order, but May should know better than this.

Better pull his finger out.

Before people say its a massive media beat up, he has obviously broken a team rule.

Melbourne have a no alchohol policy when in rehab.

Exactly, they wouldn’t make him front his team mates if it was just a beat up

This is all just one big...

Bit of reverse psychology Mr Roo’s? I hope it works!

Turning up to the club unfit and now breaking players trust. Not a great career move.

Steven May is a [censored] idiot.

Cant believe i legitimately dislike one of our own players.    What a waste of pick 6.

Bit too early for a call like that P but I get your frustration.

I think we are all frustrated by his actions to date.

Agree May should be more careful. But Morris’ story is bloke went to pub and had a few beers...give me a break. Where did Tom get the story from his instadh account. FFS what has the world become

he really should be sticking to mineral water until he at least gets fit enough to play again: unprofessional

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
