Where the F is Preuss???????????????

FFS what’s the point in getting him if we ain’t gunna select him.

Our problem has been locking the ball inside 50 / forward pressure. Adding another tall isn’t going to help with that.

Keilty may have been worth a look but perhaps a forward line with 3 talls isn’t the right balance?

I definitely wouldn't be listing J Wagner and quick in the same sentence. I guess we all see it very differently.

That surprises me. I thought he was quick but have no real evidence. Maybe send it to the fact checker thread.

Disappointing selection someone needed to cop the blame for that terrible loss and they decided on second gamer Sparrow. PATHETIC!

Petracca should have been dropped for Stretch don't know what he has to do to get a game.

Preuss not playing again just goes to show the club prefers a VFL premiership to an AFL premiership.

I have a bad feeling about this. Grow some balls Goodwin!

I reckon Hunt will play as a pressure forward this week with ANB, Cory Wagner and Lockhart as alternating crumbers.

One plays predominantly forward, the other wing...

We aren’t blessed with many half-forwards at the moment so we couldn’t really drop him for a wingman.

Both Wagners in? That's meant to make our side better?

If Stretch can't get a game with all these outs then what is the point of having him on the list?

Wow.  All the angst over selection.

if Goodie believes that the guys that were down on form are a better chance than fringe players of delivering for the team, then he’s gotta keep the faith.  From outside, and with just the Captains run, what can we know?

think if we go down Friday, the axe will swing hard then....

Play Stretch half forward couldn't do worse than Petracca.

FMD , I said FMD

how does ANB. PETRACCA, and to a lesser extent HUNT hold places??

Why Recruit Pruess if ya not gonna play him?

If Jeffy is fit sheeeeeit surely a 150 gamer is better than C Wagner???

Billy Stretch whilst not a great fan surely deserves a run at front runner ANBs expense??

Sheeeit Goody I hope ur faith pays of

And if it doesn't !!

We are Gone for 2019!!

Two Wagners does not make a win.

Thanks for your sage advice two rounds in. Noted.

Argh!! [censored] ANB gets another gig!

Joke!

While we are at it lets run Gawn to the grown by playing the sole ruckman.

Bit disappointed Keilty wasn’t picked this week, thought he was a real chance for his debut

This may have been the reason why he isn't in.

We are 0-2...  so I suspect they didn't want to go in with another kid, just yet.

I wonder if there might be a late change,  Re billy.

I think it also because Tracca is still in the side.   Maybe for one last chance to get himself going.

At least we wont need to blame the umpires again.

I know what you are saying but at the same time Gawn needs help. He gets smashed in games now and teams double team him and this is where Preuss can even up the ledger a bit.

Agree, tomorrow night is actually going to be warm and Gawn again will be rucking on his own. Id sit Preuss in the goal square and tell him not to move. At least he is another target. He could easily split the packs and crush Hurley in the mean time. Ugh those changes do not excite me.

I don't get all the love for Preuss - he really has shown nothing to warrant selection in an AFL team so far at Melbourne

Simply being big doesn't equate to much at all - in fact, it is likely to be a big liability if he isn't marking, isn't chasing, isn't kicking goals etc.

Not saying Gawny doesn't deserve a backup but Preuss would be behind Keilty for mine at this stage

Agreed, although I thought last week we were fine with the 1 ruck.

The week before Port structured their ruckman really well. They were each playing 1 kick in front / behind the play at all times. Our ball use was poor and it played to their 2 ruckman setup

The way I see this playing out is that We will beat the Bombers irrespective of the changes we make at the table. We're just better than them if our core players are on.

The real problem is the false equivalence that a win justifies the teams selection, because we're just going to end up exposed week/s later against a better team when the FD are choosing the same players and leaving the same issues unaddressed.

According to Mark Stevens, Stringer has a sore foot (didn’t partake in the “captain’s run” today) and Zaharakis didn’t partake either. Although some would argue Zaharakis hasn’t partaken in the season full stop.

+1

Preuss is not match fit. Yes it was @#$%ing hot in Shepparton but he was cooked 3/4 of the way through the FIRST quarter, FFS.

AND he dropped everything that came his way.

Defintely not the answer to our current problems.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
