Looks a lot older than 20.

I think he is older played with Aspley in Qld  and I suspect from memory Oskar was a older recruit.

Potential though and good to work on for future!

Started well, but then trailed off.

Lacks the strength and technique to break tackles and dish handballs in tight at the packs. That's a vital thing to develop.

But his evasiveness in traffic and pace are both strong assets.

Seemed to play more forward after ANB went off. I think he's more of a natural on a wing but looking at VFL stats this year I don't think he's at peak fitness after an interrupted pre season and he's not an endurance beast either. So half forward with bursts on the wing seem likely for now.

Think he's too raw for a sustained run of games this year but did enough to look like he's still worth developing.

I thought he showed some good signs last night in what was a hostile environment to make your debut. Give him at least a 3 or 4 week crack at it.

As I said in the Gameday thread, I reckon it's the new haircut.  He looked like an unkempt kid with the mop.  Now looks like a man!

I don't give a stuff about how his hair is, as long as he can play. Are you a hairdresser or something, you seem obsessed with appearance and masculinity?

My first thought was that he reminded me of Steven Stretch playing on the wing. Tall balanced and quick I hope they persevere with him.

Good debut and showed a lot of the traits that we’ve been wanting to bring into the team.  He’ll hopefully pick up the pace and awareness with a bit more experience at senior level; his brain was definitely on VFL pace on a few occasions.

I liked his instincts to run, carry and attack- we need more of that.

This guy will be a fantastic player.  Next week on the MCG, he begins the journey to making those wings his own.   Watch this space!

Four years ago we would've been quietly celebrating another good prospect getting their first game under their belt, and looking forward to the future.

I know the urgency of getting full-AFL-level performances out of our best-22 overrides that a little, but at a personal level for him, and as a note for the future of the club, I'd say we've got a live one here.

Thinking in ludicrously optimistic terms, but this current form slump and injury horror show has allowed a whole lot of young and fringe players to be tested or to get a little experience. It helps answer a lot of questions that might otherwise have only been faced once some of our current core players begin retiring.

What he shows is that we are much better off developing our own talent! No more trading for players who cost first or second round draft picks. Only Hawthorn Scully like deals please!

To be fair our second round pick deals have been awesome... Hibberd and Melksham

Next year Swallow may well get a regular position in the team, like Baker will this year.

Excellent last paragraph LG. I optimistically agree with david king who said this week melbourne 's run at the 2020 flag starts now with planning and getting healthy list in place. Your point on whay we have found in new talent can only improve 2020 prpspects.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
