Looks a lot older than 20.

I think he is older played with Aspley in Qldย ย and I suspect from memory Oskar was a older recruit.

Potential though and good to work on for future!

ย

Started well, but then trailed off.ย

Lacks the strength and technique to break tackles and dish handballs in tight at the packs. That's a vital thing to develop.

But his evasiveness in traffic and pace are both strong assets.

Seemed to play more forward after ANB went off. I think he's more of a natural on a wing but looking at VFL stats this year I don't think he's at peak fitness after an interrupted pre season and he's not an endurance beast either. So half forward with bursts on the wing seem likely for now.

Think he's too raw for a sustained run of games this year but did enough to look like he's still worth developing.

I thought he showed some good signs last night in what was a hostile environment to make your debut. Give him at least a 3 or 4 week crack at it.

ย

He will get games going on what he showed tonight. Awareness will come (hopefully), showed some decent skills.

No he turns 21 this week.

OB will be back next week.

Showed dash and whilst he didnโ€™t shine, he will only get better at the contest.

ย Needed to kick the goal just before half time. ย

As I said in the Gameday thread, I reckon it's the new haircut.ย  He looked like an unkempt kid with the mop.ย  Now looks like a man!

I don't give a stuff about how his hair is, as long as he can play. Are you a hairdresser or something, you seem obsessed with appearance and masculinity?

ย

My first thought was that he reminded me of Steven Stretch playing on the wing. Tall balanced and quick I hope they persevere with him.

ย

Look he got caught a few times but I like how when Harmes was targeted at one point he went in to defend him. Give him another go next week.ย

Good debut and showed a lot of the traits that weโ€™ve been wanting to bring intoย the team. ย Heโ€™ll hopefully pick up the pace and awareness with a bit more experience at senior level; his brain was definitely on VFL pace on a few occasions.

I liked his instincts to run, carry and attack- we need more of that.

This guy will be a fantastic player.ย  Next week on the MCG, he begins the journey to making those wings his own.ย ย  Watch this space!

Four years ago we would've been quietly celebrating another good prospect getting their first game under their belt, and looking forward to the future.

I know the urgency of getting full-AFL-level performances out of our best-22 overrides that a little, but at a personal level for him, and as a note for the future of the club, I'd say we've got a live one here.

Thinking in ludicrously optimistic terms, but this current form slump and injury horror show has allowed a whole lot of young and fringe players to be tested or to get a little experience. It helps answer a lot of questions that might otherwise have only been faced once some of our current core players begin retiring.

Love this kid.ย  Three games in and he already looks the goods.

Dont forget to smash that Like button if you agree.

What he shows is that we are much better off developing our own talent! No more trading for players who cost first or second round draft picks. Only Hawthorn Scully like deals please!

I've been really impressed with his composure. ย Doesn't look flustered at all and has the ability to make space for himself. ย

To be fair our second round pick deals have been awesome... Hibberd and Melksham

Next year Swallow may well get a regular position in the team, like Baker will this year.

Excellent last paragraph LG. I optimistically agree with david king who said this week melbourne 's run at the 2020 flag starts now with planning and getting healthy list in place. Your point on whay we have found in new talent can only improve 2020 prpspects.

Yes. Sparrow. Sorry!

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
