Dunn Knee Again

Featured Replies

Poor bloke. That's probably curtains on his career.

First time l've genuinely felt sympathy for an opposition player. He's more Melbourne than Collingwood to me.

poor bloke. only wish good things for Dunny

Top Bloke. His career finished at the MFC at the right time

wish him all the best

Bad luck for him.  Collingwood getting overconfident with knees maybe because Goldsack came back so quickly?  Happy for Lever to take 12 months to get back.  Even 13 months if needed

Devastated for him! Really bad luck.

Wish him all the best.

(Also this is why you never rush knees. Lever can take another 4 months if it means he never does it again!)

Bloody terrible. Feel for him.

Have a real soft spot for him and wish him all the best. I remember my son coming across him at various venues and unlike many of his teammates at the time who were very aloof he was always friendly and willing to have a chat. A genuinely good guy who deserves better.

Fingers crossed for him. My favourite pie by a street (behind steak and mushroom)

Dunny could play and was reliable but l guess that our FD thought he wasn't good enough to fit into the side. However in a short space of time became a fixture in the backline for C/wood reliable and a was respected as a person and player and in time was voted in their Leadership group.

Devastated for what seems like the end of the road of his playing career. Loved him at Melbourne and didn't have a hate for him playing for the enemy . In the future l wouldn't be surprised if Lynden was picked up as an assistant coach and if there is a chance to get him,  perhaps his leadership values and toughness would rub on the guys.

Dunny in my eyes your a Demon for life.

At times we get seduced by the glamour of AFL footy, but these incidents highlight the ever present risk of season ending injury, and, perhaps in Lyndon's case, career ending injuries. There is always the risk like the devil lurking in the shadows, of fate intervening to take you down a path that no one wants to take.

Lyndon's career has been one of persistence and determination. It's good that he finished his playing career (if indeed he has) playing good footy in a good team.

His development and growth as a person should hold him in good stead for an opportunity in the non-playing footy world.

He's on 196 games which also happens to be the clubhouse leader for current players not having played a final. (It's also the sixth highest of all time). Nevertheless, should this be the end, he should be proud of the fact that he played so many games. What's most impressive to me, though, is that he appears to have already mapped out what his post-playing career might look like with his experience as an assistant coach in the AFLW.

Sorry for him. Just as I was sorry to see him leave the Dees. Had a real weapon with that penetrating kicking. Best of luck, Dunny.

Me too PM, whilst he wasn't my favourite demon especially the first half of his career, he got better in our back half and grew something of a reputation.   Happy for him to do well at the Pies, except against us,...

But i am very sorry for this injury to him,  now twice in 12 months. that's very sad.

Get well, and get strong Dunny.

.

Always loved him. It was just great to yell out Dunnneee!! at the G. Best wishes to him.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
