Wiseblood, Wiseblood, Wiseblood....

That makes absolutely no sense.

I was just trying to be nice.

ANB would have to be a sniff to get the axe this week.

He killed our momentum with 2 missed set shots int he first quarter. Nail both of those and we could've broken Port's spirits by qtr time with a 4 or 5 goal lead.

In addition, his form in round 1 and JLT has mirrored the club's  - very lackluster. Some tough calls may need to be made on him and others (*cough* Petracca *cough) shortly if things don't turn around.

I think you'll find Lewis is out for 2-3 more weeks. I presume, therefore, that looking at your outs, Hore keeps his spot?

I agree with this, Lewis is out for a coupa weeks still. I also think that if we play OMac, we will lose due to his leakage in deep defence.

The teams will be very interesting tonight...

Goody hinted to limited changes in his presser however we have May & Lockhart basically confirmed.

He also seemed very impressed with KK, however we really cannot afford to allow another underdone player come in.

given the rumours swirling, i'll now go...

IN: May, KK, Lockhart
OUT: Frost, C Wagner, Viney

B: Jetta - May - Hore
HB: Salem - O Mac - Hibberd
? Jones - Brayshaw - Fritsch
HF: Petracca - T Mac - Spargo
F: Melksham - Weideman - ANB
Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Harmes
I/c: KK - Hunt - Sparrow - Lockhart

The alternative way to look at it was that ANB got himself into positions to get the ball to have shots at goal when others didn't look likely. I suspect that will be of greater interest to the Football Department. One of our best kicks for goal in the last decade is now playing with Port because he didn't get the ball often enough in the first place.

I don't think that is the reason.......

Let's hope Sparrow is not dropped.  if he is, you have to ask why he was selected last week to begin with. He did enough especially when you consider there was zero leadership out there for him to follow

He was picked because he was the best available running player with a bit of grunt who could hopefully do his job in the forward line.

The only other legitimate choices were J Wagner in down back and keeping Hunt forward, or Stretch in on a wing. Neither were that appealing. The old (Sheedy I think) formula of if in doubt play the kid came in to play.

Playing Lockhart wasn't really an option given the limited time on the list, throwing him straight in would've rocked the boat. At least giving him a game at Casey and probably more importantly a couple of weeks training and showing his fellow players he's up to standard makes him far more of a selection option.

Now that Lockhart and Kolodjashnij are both options for selection it could easily bump Sparrow out of the side.

You're probably right, but my argument is so much better if you let everyone believe that what I wrote is the real reason.

that would be fine if he played poorly but he was decent for his first game, 14 touches, 3 tackles, 1 goal.   if experienced players are waiting they jump ahead, not a rookie and an unproven new recruit (imo)

Very interesting selection with May, KK & Lockhart coming in. Not unhappy though.

Go Dee’s!!

I agree to La Dee.....

& now Port are playing him off half back where we should have been playing him in the first place.

Good onya Jack & hope you have a stellar year.

Fervently hoping Jack Viney fires up for his 100th. It's been a long time coming.

Official changes

In: May, Kolodjashnij, Lockhart

Out: Spargo, Hore, Wagner

Outs: Try hards

Inns: Future of MFC!

Frost retained = relief/chop out for Max (therefore allow TMac and Weeds to play foward fulltime) ?

Alternatively, gives flexibility to allow May to spend some time up forward (which IIRC was one of the 'teasers' that persuaded May to choose us)

Frost very, very lucky...

He's in your gun, isn't he, mate?

I don't particularly rate OMac or Frost, but I'd take Frost ahead of OMac. When Lever is fit, I think we should see Frost stay and OMac go out, but I suspect it'll be a week by week proposition, because neither are good enough.

It's not the obvious brain fades 'A F', but the times he loses contact with his opponent in transition.

He finds himself in no mans land way too often.

He had a few good games last year, last week was poor, let's hope he can turn it on this week.

I completely agree. I just think OMac is worse. I'm not actually sure what he brings.

o mac can read the ball in flight better than frost and then isn't anything like as wasteful in possession as frost, but is physically out-bodied and has a turning circle of a mack truck

frost is a bigger body and quicker but is just not a footballer

very interesting that we've kept both when you consider cats really only have hawkins and ratugolea as a tall forward duo, then rohan as a midsize surrounded by smaller types

Too dour, and slow... with his play,  and his decisions.

1 of the tall defenders has to play forward? OMac, Frost, May is too many against their 2 talls.

They are the kings of the late change though. Does Henderson come in and where would he play?
