@ding are you Vignetting them photos post?

No mate, i have run each file through Photoshop but only do an "Auto Levels", followed by resizing at either 15 or 25 percent, depending on the amount i have cropped out, after cropping if warranted. No other post-processing involved. Every image posted so far was taken using a Canon 5DMK2 with 70-200 f2.8 IS/USM lens. For some reason, this batch seems to have the appearance of moderate Vignetting as you described. Honestly can't say why it looks like that, but I'm still happy enough with the result.

So what have we got, one more JLT then an intra club hit out before Round 1?

yep... the bears at Casey next Saturday in the comparative cool.. (25 predicted.)

I thought it was a really good hit out ... we had a whole host of good players out yet our teamwork & link up play was quite good (all things considered)

I especially liked the way the team kept coming deep into the last quarter ... but any number of players who ran around today aren't going to be in the starting 22.  15 players pick themselves (if available) so only about 7 spots are up for grabs and there's at least 20 players vying for those 7 spots.

Gawn,  Viney,  Jones,  Lewis,  May,  Lever,  Petracca,  T-Mac,  Oliver,  Brayshaw,  Harmes,  Salem,  Jetta,  Melksham,  & Hibberd all start (if fit) yet only about 6 of those 15 played today.

Add in those 9 who didn't play and it's a completely different team.   Weideman,  Fritsch and one of Frost or Oscar probably start as well so the rest are fighting for very few spots.  That competitive environment is great for the club thus we saw the team fight to the finish today.

Again,  we could have been on the end of a belting yet very nearly won the game.  I was very pleased with the overall effort.

Great Camera the 5D. Many people are using them to shoot documentaries on in heavy countries, as they are easy to get through an airport,  no suspicion. Doing original tests at the ABC with a Flash Card we  could shoot 8 minutes of Top Quality Broacast Footage  and that was a few years ago, so i am sure the size of a Flash Drive has increased, never used a 7D, is that basically just more memory?

5D is full frame, 7D is not.

5D uses both SD and Compact Flash, 7D uses just Compact Flash (can’t recall what limitations there are regarding the size of the CF card).

I used to use a 7D and upgraded to a 5D Mark III... now dreaming of when I can afford to upgrade to a Mark IV.

Surprisingly (or maybe not, for Demonland) negative thread about a practice match.

None of us know what we may or may not have been trialling, changing, experimenting with etc..

I'll save my (inevitable) worry for the season proper.

Is it possible the lens is not full frame compatible?

Cool. Quite a lot of “Back Roads” on ABC is shot with 5D

Beautiful Camera even when transcoding to a high compression

I don’t know much about that, but the resolution is: 5760 × 3840 (22.3 effective megapixels)

Zero chance. This lens is made for full frame, but crop sensor compatible. I have used it at countless weddings, but I generally add some minor vignetting in post-processing afterwards, usually only in the close-up shots of the bridal party, family etc.

I have used it on @faultydet Canon 7d (which is a  crop sensor. He also has a 5dMK2) and it performs perfectly.

I honestly cant explain why these images look like they are vignetted in post-processing, but i agree that it looks like they have been.

Didn't realise we had so many people on this site who knew their cameras lols.

PS, my 5D classic does NOT use SD cards.... CF only.

1920 x 1280 is an HD Frame

Big File

I thought it was a good hit out for us, we played 2 good quarters and 2 bad ones, so plenty still to work on. looked like we lacked a bit of run, but I guess when not everyone is on the same page, a good team like the tigers can take you apart pretty quickly, then you're chasing tail and looking slower than you maybe really are. we were also pretty predictable with the way we moved the ball and the Tigers preyed on it and picked us off.

of the new and inexperienced players, I thought;

Petty, Hore, Keilty, Smith and Jordan showed enough at times to suggest they might make handy players for us.

Preuss mistimed a lot of ruck jumps and surprisingly wasn't that strong in the contest either. he also seemed to tire after playing the first 20 minutes. i'm still unsure about how he fits into the side. next week will be the big test is suppose, Gawn will be back and I think the lions will play the 2 ruckmen also.

some of our smaller running types fumbled a lot, stuffed up and turned it over too much. blokes like Stretch, ANB, Hunt and the Wagners the main offenders. but most of those guys aren't best 22 anyway and will be playing in the 2's for most of the year anyway.

also i think Sparrow has a fair bit of development to do at Casey before he gets a game in the seniors. his kicking ain't flash.

was baffled by the Preuss trade.....does anyone think he'll get many games this year? Assuming Gawn stays fit?

He has only played 8 AFL games...give him a season training & playing with Max & I think we will see why

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.
