I was thinking about past Demon players that went on for one reason or another to other clubs and I came up with this 22, no room for the Mighty Morton, feel free to add or subtract. I'm sure there is plenty of worthy players I've missed. The only criteria being that they must have played their first senior game with MFC . You miss out Big Carl.

B: Campbell. Dunne. Beveridge.

HB: Howe. Rivers. Frawley.

C :  Tingay. Wells. Alves.

HF: Armstrong. Hogan. Lovell.

F: Watts. Jackson. Farmer.

R: Jolly. Thompson. Callery.

Int: Martin. McClean. Scully. Dyson.

OH you missed the one and only Allen Jackovich. He won't be happy.

I’d have Matthew Bishop ahead of either Dunne or Howe.

Danny Hughes should be in. And Spalding. Martin Pike?

I don’t recall the Danny Hughes full back moving, and the other younger one HFF was hardly a star.

Which one are you referring to?

And Barassi was a big omission.

Did Norm Smith move at the end of his playing career?

I assume the Jackson is Mark, not Ricky. Didn't the whacko one play senior football somewhere else before he joined us?

Need to have a closer look at the rules for selection of this team, too. I'm not sure Hogan should be eligible for selection until he's played a senior game at another club.

Danny Hughes played for the Crows in their first year about a dozen games

GAMEDAY: Match SIM vs North Melbourne

After an agonizingly long off-season the 2025 AFL Premiership Season is almost upon us and the Demons have their first practice hit out against the Kangaroos in a match simulation out at Arden Street. The Demons will take on the Kangaroos in match simulation play, starting from 10am AEDT and broadcast live on Foxtel and Kayo. The play start time was brought forward from the initial 11am bounce, due to the high temperatures forecast.  The match sim will consist of four 25-minute qu

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
