You lost me as soon as you said it was on preseason form then included Hore for round 1 who is a recruit who has not even trained with the main group. How does this logic stand up?

You wouldn't have a team based on pre season form. I said I considered pre season form. That's why Frost, Spargo and Fritsch are in and O.Mac, Hannan and Vanders are out.

Yet you have included someone with no exposed AFL form nor even any pre-season guides to allude to... Sorry still a bit lost.

I think we should wait until at least the JLT games til we start to put new recruits in the best 22. I think the only exception at the moment is May. KK and Pruess probably get a look in too but the 18 years olds and ex-VFL will have to earn that spot and it's way too early to make those calls.

What about VFL form. He back to full training now anyway. I think he's the perfect replacement for Lever.

...only weakness is OMac at CHB instead of Frosty. Shame that Hannan fits as an emergency but this is the state of the list, I guess. OMac should be an emergency in our opinions, with some serious running time and practice in the Casey team for some time.

Barring any injuries VandenBerg is a shoein and is in our best 22 IMO. The kind of player with the big body  aggressive and hits hard.

Yeah I agree with that. Even though his disposal is sometimes deplorable the rest of him makes him an important member of the team

I'm with you Werridee. Love a pre-emptive 22. My mates do them all off-season. After draft day. After trade week. They're fun.

Hore is a break in case of emergency guy. He'll come in for maybe 6 games as our KP defenders struggle or get hurt. OMac as usual is the whipping boy, but people do seem to forget the match committee absolutely love him. He played every game last year for some reason. Demonlanders should probably get on board, or at least understand he will get picked despite what they think.

I reckon you always have to earmark one, maybe two surprises in there as well. Goody loves to play a debutant round 1. Fritsch last year. Smith the year before that. I feel like with Oliver rehabbing they might get Sparrow a game, as he's physically ready.

Vandenberg's ending to the 2018 season was astonishing to me.  I didn't think he had it in him, to that level.  His impact was fantastic. And his speed, I hadn't realised.

We were finally playing like men.... and opposition did not know what to make of us.  Some sure  got out of our way in a hurry.

Watch out for the Cat-attack re-Match...   Selwood and coach Johnson have a plan for us... pencil it in.

How do you think Max will go against Ryder and Lycett tag teaming him?

Yeah I was thinking that, but he’s been double teamed by 2 rucks a fair few times and been alright

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
