May have already been raised.....

But questions need to be asked on what program he's run & the management of 17 surgeries etc etc

Im no expert but seems that our list looks way of the pace & Misson has resigned???

The high number of surgeries at once was us pushing players through the finals who obviously not 100%.  In the past they would have been sent earlier if we were out of running for the finals.

But there has been lots of questions asked about our fitness since Daniher left.

Go to Darren Burgess with a blank cheque book. Arsenal would be paying him a truckload but a good price & return to Australia could be enough to get him.

the numbers are stark: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/demons-early-warning-on-poor-start-to-2019-20190430-p51isa.html

In his presentation, Misson showed that the Demons had 39 players complete a total of 33 training sessions each in the pre-season prior to the successful 2018 season, when they made the finals for the first time in 12 years and stormed in to the preliminary final.

This year, in Misson’s telling, there were just 25 players completing a total of 22 sessions each – a massive drop partly explained by high number of players who had post-season surgery.

Does anyone have any updates on AVB, Hannon & Joel Smith? Wouldn't mind all three in our forward line.

We’ve really missed Hannan and AVB... much more confident in Hannan’s imminent return than the latter’s.

So is May 3-4 weeks or 11 weeks?  Where did the 11 weeks come from that people have been posting?

And this is why I think our win/loss tally is going to be minuscule this year - like 3 or 4.

The club will put players into July/August surgeries so they’re back for the start of the pre season. They also won’t bother with May or Vanders and maybe even Lever and Jetta. They may also call time on Viney at some stage.

So we’ll be playing half a VFL side in the second half of the year and a win will be most unlikely. All in the pursuit of setting ourselves up for the best pre season possible.

I could be wrong but i just see us being ultra conservative now that our season is likely shot.

The only place I can see 11 weeks is on the Demonland desktop homepage.

Everywhere else this morning said TBC, now this afternoon 3-4.

I don’t like being so down on the dees but the way they are playing.. game plan, execution, skill errors, lack of speed etc. I’m really not sure we’ll win as  many as 3 or 4. I can’t think of a single side we defeat atm. . And yes I agree there is no way we will keep playing injured players late into this nightmare of a season.

We'll win the next 2 and be 3/5  then some players may start to return. Keep the faith people.

May was 2-3 weeks after round 2.  He is now 3-4 weeks after round 6.

So simple maths says his “groin” injury will likely have him out to Round 10.  That’s 8 weeks out!!!!

It's getting beyond a joke with May being out all this time.

This is one Big Strike, against May and the Club, Re monitoring players in the Off season.

What is the go with KK? We were told that his concussion issues were neck related. We were told only mild concussion after the Geelong game and will miss a week. Now out indefinitely with concussion and little information from the club. What do we believe?

Agree.  Missed 3 matches and told it was precautionary to miss one week.  Was there any due diligence done on KK before we signed him up? He has had issues at the Suns. Hope to see him back soon but will need weeks in the VFL.

I believe the club definitely did their due diligence with KK. Apparently a lot of his concussion problems were lingering or made worse by his neck not being right. https://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-13/boost-for-kolodjashnij-in-concussion-struggle. It is stated here that he would not have long term issues due them working out his neck issues causing him headaches and other concussion symptoms.

You have to worry a bit as he was running around without a helmet for the few games he played this year including when he pulled up with concussion symptoms post the Essendon game.

The KK recruitment is looking like a huge blunder with now more concussions concerns. Someone also needs to be held accountable for Joel Smith injury. Its just getting worse and worse by each week.

Good to hear JKH is not far off as is Jake Lever

Great news re JKH well ahead of schedule 3-5 weeks

I know he gets s#1t piled onto him throughout this forum because he's not a superstar but his efforts later half of last year were great and always gives 110%, runs both ways (unlike many), tackles and is a reasonable kick...

I'm looking forward to him returning, he's the genuine depth we're missing from much of the rest

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
