Sweet Jesus,

He is an absolute hack and is not well connected in WA, may have been 20 years ago

He gets a lot more wrong than he gets right, this will be a fishing expedition because he's getting nothing from Freo and is trying to force a comment.

Disagree.

Guess we'll see if he's right this time then.

You seem pretty definite in ur responses Nelo.
Do u have inside knowledge of what has been going on apart from the stuff which has been made public?

No I don’t. Understand he’s had issues with family which is sad. Since then I do think he has gone about things the wrong way. Alcohol is no answer. Not surprising Freo are potentially going to part ways.

Jesse needs a full on incentive performance  based contract.
I wonder if he would return to the MFC if the carrot ? was dangled?

I know he lives in a footy bubble city but I really wish the press would give it a rest, as I'm pretty sure they did with Buddy. No matter how much he's trying to block out the media he will still get these stories and if these are matters yet to be discussed by himself and the club this will do nothing but bad things for his mental well being.

Whatever is going on with him is personal and he should be given the time a space to deal with it. One day the media's pushing will go too far and lead to something really bad happening.

Can we please resist for once? Poor young bloke is clearly not coping with a lot of [censored] luck. Good luck to you Jesse.

Relax...Operation CROAD is in full effect.

Clearly Melbourne knew what they were doing when they agreed to trade him with a year still to go on his contract.

Some supporters should have a bit more faith in the club's list management decisions and take pause to reflect the next time they're inclined to wail like excitable banshees.

It would be interesting to see if the mental issues persisted if AFL players stop getting paid whilst they weren't at the club.

In the real world you don't get "time" away to sort out your personal [censored]....if you do you'll find yourself pretty hungry pretty quick!

That's pretty insensitive and seeing how your never going to walk a mile in their shoes, your opinion says way more about you than players struggling with mental health issues.

Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

My grandfather alwas said you should walk a mile in others shoes. Because when they found out, you'd be a mile away and you'd have their shoes.

He never had any disciplinary problems at the Dee's, has not been able to cope with his foot injury, and going back to WA to a 2 team town can make it worse the. Media can hound you down

Sounds like he was ahead of his time .... as a tool

Weird synergy between us signing Bennell and Fremantle potentially cutting Hogan.

Your good self and your learned colleagues (who liked your post) clearly have no idea what synergy means.

Wasn't Hagdorn the same peanut who said Longmuir had rejected Freo coaching job?

Throw a few dart's and you are bound to get one correct.

Jesse is not missed. Alive and well on Demonland, like he never left.

Well if the clubs list managers knew that Jess was going to have a season ending  mid year injury then  I do have a lot more faith in them .He not the club instituted the move back to WA and we accepted a lop sided trade  in return.I am dismayed by the patent schadenfreude being displayed in  this thread .He has done nothing to merit this. There is absolutely no evidence that's been produced to suggest his problem is career  ending as much as some wish this to be the case..We have nothing  remotely as talented as Jesse  in the forwards and I would have him back in a heartbeat.

The lunatic in Flinders Street today is clearly distressed about the whole situation as well..

I don't believe the culture is good at Freo.  I would say he got better support and structure in his life when he was with us.  If it was good the article would not be published. I thinking someone is fishing to see the public reaction of that possible direction.

I'd welcome hime back, after giving him time to get his head right as he is still young and has talent.  But does he have the work ethic now(after all the events in his life) to build his skill to fulfill his talent?  That i don't know, only he does.

He and Hardie have a show where they rabbit on over rubbish calls all the time.. you don’t live in WA so you’re not exposed to it but as usual you’ll cherry pick an internet article here and there to pack your pipe.

Hardie called only three days ago that we wouldn’t sign Bennell, Hagdorn has made some ridiculous calls over the years. He’s won an award? In today’s journalism standards how is that even worthy of acknowledgement from an anonymous forum poster?

LOL. Keep it going big fella.

Nowhere have I talked about Hardie.

I'm not sure why you're bringing him up other than to try and continue the personal gripe you seem to have with me for some reason.

Posters, I'm assuming including yourself now, were calling Hagdorn a 'hack' and saying he's not connected, wouldn't know anything etc, so I pointed out it was only a few years ago he won a pretty well respected media award for his news breaking work.

But cool, let's just continue with the 'all media are hacks' and 'I hate people on the internet I've never met' narratives because that's really mature.

No. He said Longmuir had other options outside of Freo and clubs were interested in him.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
