Agree with most of that. We have to play a lot better next week. But so we should. The Rewards are high...

Agree Kingy, but sometimes it's good to win ugly.  But to know we have another gear or 2 is great internally.  My fear is that the players have had 2 amazing crowd-backed adrenaline-filling games.  The next one will be flipped on its head in that respect.  Also Coast have Kennedy & Darling, unlike a few weeks ago.

Before Demonlander's vilify him and throw metaphoric eggs at his windows, Kingy has been our greatest supporter in 2018, even when the simpletons (Lyon - 8 by default; Demonology slitting its wrists after Geelong and Sydney) were wallowing in the veil of negativity.

it's nice that we can have a 'poorer' game..and still win.  Signs are good...

King, nor Ling, nor @ding, nor I @Danelska, know the permeations that will determine the outcome of the game...

If we get belted...still a successful year...

Quite frankly, the spectrum is simply,   (we belt them.....we win close....draw....they win close....they belt us).

And I'm surprised (but not for the sake of writing an article to fill a quota) that King has brought into fleeting form.

Amazing to believe that a six goal win against a top four side in a semi final is being considered as a 'down week.'

Remember when such a thing involved an upset loss to Carlton or St Kilda?

Gunston kicked 3 goals 5 behinds

We were down massively on inside 50's in the second quarter but outscored them for that quarter.

We had some luck last night but what winning team doesn't have that factor.

Picked us to play Richmond in the Grand Final. Says eagles will belt us.

Cool story Bro.

You should read the article properly.

I love the way they talk about Hawthorns injuries being Stratton and O'Meara. I thaught we had our best defender and forward missing but what does that matter in an arguments sake.

No disrespect to TMAC

i like the idea of kingy talking up the eagles, keep it up, i would rather they underestimate us, now that they have a couple of their stars back, i want them thinking they have this in the bag, home crowd, home umpires all that sort of thing.  We showed we can pants them over there so when we start to hit the score board i want to see them doubt themselves. We may not win by as much as we did last time but i think we have the talent to beat them.

Yeah...I didn’t. I don’t read anything that has his name attached generally...

But....I just did...and understand.

Meh. We’ve already overachieved this season. To beat our two biggest “bogie” teams in finals was a massive achievement. Yes we didn’t play great, but to win without playing great, is a sign of greatness.

Richmond beat Hawks by 31 points and are flag favorites. We beat them by 33 points and are going backwards. Cool logic.

Wow! Maybe he watched the game from the bar. Of course they had more marks, they were chipping it around that much. Hardly ever looked threatening going forward as other than Gunston they had no-one else to kick to! Jesus, if winning by 6 goals against a top 4 team, in a sudden death pressure final, is bad form, I'll take that every time. Kingy, take a look at the number of goal kickers each team had, there is your story there.

Can’t say I disagree with him, in that he said they would if we played like we did last night. However I think the Eagles style works better for us.

We shall see.

exactly, they chipped it around and bombed it in, no matter how much they do it that wont be effective in finals footy. while we lowered the eyes and made them pay.

We shut down the corridor all night. Forcing them to continually switch the play looking for gaps (they rarely found them) or going wide down the wings and flanks.

I thought we defended the ground magnificently last night. They weren't able to waltz through with their kicking skills. Sure they had a lot of marks, but many of them were effectively going nowhere.

I wouldn't disagree with anything he said.

He's mostly right, we didn't play well last night and need to improve. But I don't know about a "step backwards". We ground out an ugly win in a semi, which is something I wouldn't have thought we were capable of only a month or 2 back.

Im telling you and have been saying for the last 3-4 months, David King has got [censored] loads of cash on the Dees to win the flag, he is playing down the performance and putting a negative slant on proceedings.

He's not as stupid as you think he's a very smart operator, He is the Dees no.1 ticket holder.

He's been smoking our poles for the last year now, he is heavily invested in the Dees big style.

thats a silly argument. whilst the game couldve been closer, we also couldve won by 50 plus if the umps were ok and petracca hit some more targets

Thanks for your input David ‘Melb will do some damage in the finals’ King.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
