Just saw Mitch Hannan at my local cafe enjoying a coffee. Looking very relaxed. Now I'm worried ?

Good that’s how they need to be, would be exhausted by 1st bounce if they were amped up like the supporters

No.... that's good

I am so glad to go and watch the dees play finals again. Still have clear memories of the Northey and Daniher years and how making the finals started to not count for much until you have won the cup. And we didn't.

After 12 years the excitement is back but a flag is really what I want to see. As for tonites game may as well toss a coin. Really want to play the hawks next week and kick their a$%e.

Have you ever got sick from eating there?

If he tells you he's looking forward to tomorrow's game against the Cats, then worry. Otherwise, don't.

Drove to work this morning with 2 Dees scarves out the back windows.

By the way, I live and work in Geelong.

Love your work, Chazz.  I hate these bastards and would love nothing more than to roll them tonight!

I guess you're training it to the game then....

Me every day this week so far: Let's just enjoy it and see how it goes.

Me today: AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IF WE DON'T WIN THE WORLD WILL END

Drive there, train home (if we win) or drive home (if we lose).

The freeway would be pretty hairy driving on four slashed tyres (if you left the dees scarves hanging out the window today)

We lost the first game this year against the Cats  because Gawn could not kick straight from 25 metres out. We lost the second after the siren because we were hopeless at defending for the last ten minutes.

So what tonight?

Dees by 1 why? no idea just hoping it is our turn.

Any doubts about the inclusion of Viney were dispelled for me last night watching the game between Richmond & Hawthorn. Richmond 's pressure was relentless and ultimately is what gets them over the line most weeks. They just run harder and pressure for longer. I hope our players were watching that game and took note of what it is going to take to win finals footy. JV helps give us an added dimension of ferocity at the ball and opponent probably above any other player on our list or indeed player in the comp could. I'm really starting to look forward to seeing what we dish up to the Cat's tonight. We've been better than them twice already this year, hope we will be 100% switched on from the first bounce and put them away.

I have a feeling Viney is going to run through and flatten one of the holy-wankers at the first bounce. I can feel it in my plums.

OK I am incredibly nervous. I know we should win tonight. If we play the brand of the last 2 games, we win easily IMO.

I feel like the walls in my office are closing in on me. I need to get out of here, drink beer, and prepare myself for the most important game I have seen us play since I was 13 years old (our last grand final).

GO YOU GOOD THINGS DEE'S!!!!!!

Scott has made late team changes in most games this year.

I noticed Zac Smith is an emergency.  Scott is as sneaky as they come so wouldn't be surprised to see Smith in for Abbott  - just to throw Max and our preparation.

You don't think the FD have thought of this stuff...seriously??

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
