Presented my wife's new car too her when AHG had a members new car deal on. A ripping bloke who signed a training jumper, now framed with photos which was also given to us by the dealer. Good memories. Thanks Bernie.

One of my favourite ever Demons. I love Bernie.

My 5 year old son will be devastated. He loves Bernie too. Not quite sure how I'm going to break this news to him.

Also one of my favourites. One of the nicest blokes I have met at the club.

Not sure how I am going to break the news to my 20 something year old daughter either - she will be shattered. Glad he got his 100 games in. Looking forward to many Bernie Juniors playing for the Dees in years to come.

Bernie showed the club it's possible to be yourself while knowing when it's time to put your feet up.

For a while, some of us on here thought that we needed to be a team of robots to reach the promised land (I admittedly was among their ranks). He showed you could enjoy a beer every now and then (so long as it didn't disturb your preparation or team planning) but still be a cut throat competitor on the field.

If we do win the flag, I hope he is on the ground and not looking on from the stands. Last time I heard of him winning a premiership with a team, he got close to stripping down to his birthday suit. ;)

What chance Bernie comes in for the grannie should we make it? Almost none, I know…but I want to see that photo of Lewis holding up the 5 fingers, with Jones, Viney, Gawn, Clarry, and Bernie in the foreground holding up the 1.

Wasn’t here at our lowest ebb and won’t be here when we peak, but was here to help us build the bridge in between, every step of the way.

Roos goes out of his way to give credit to Vince for his role in turning the ship around.

I’ve loved his time here, particularly his tough brand, long kicking and high standards. I’m sad he has to go without playing any finals for the MFC, but the time is clearly right. I’m thrilled he could limp over the 100 game mark - life membership is a fitting capstone to his time here.

All the best Bernie.

Love Bernie... he is so easy to love! I agree with all the great things that Demonlanders have expressed above. I hope we can keep him at the club for some time yet. He is such a positive influence! I wish him the best, wherever life takes him from here. Thank you Bernie for all the belief you restored, for all the fun you shared and for representing our Club with distinction!

Congratulations Bernie on a wonderful career. You have been all class since walking through the door five years ago, and I hope you get a chance to finish on a high note either in the AFL or VFL.

Hopefully you stay connected to the MFC, but best wishes for the future either way.

Onya Bernie,   You will always be linked with Roosy, PJ and the rest of the crew that selflessly came to this club when it was at rock bottom to help turn it around and make it something great again, and you succeeded.

TO BERNIE!

Love Bern. Not too many blokes win B&Fs at two clubs.

Loved his pointy elbows even though they meant his unsociable brand was always on the borderline of a suspension.

Met him at the Interstate supporters function last year (he was guest speaker because he was suspended) and got a selfie with him, Robbo and my good wife. I suggested to her at the time that I'd turn for Bern. Nothing's changed.

Only one of 6 people in history to have won a B&F at two VFL/AFL clubs apparently, according to the article on MFC website.

Bernie was running laps at training this morning so he might still think he is a chance!

As others have said came to us when finals was nothing but a pipedream.

Admired him at the Crows, loved him for us reached the magical ton as a Dee and a fairytale ending would be great for his efforts but whatever the outcome Bernie thanks for your efforts

100 + games and B & F at 2 clubs fantastic career. Lets hope a flag at either Fees or Casey is your last footballing memory

Would have loved to see him play a final in red & blue. Hope he feels he's accomplished what he set out to achieve when he decided to join us. He & Crossy in particular have been immense when it came to turning the club around on field. So glad he got to play his 100th game for us. Thanks Bernie

Will always love Bernie.  Someone uploaded this years back but I've always loved it and, to me, sums up how quickly he fell in love with the club.

The classic Dangerfield shot by a sniper flop (at 30 second mark).

Will never forget the game against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval when he smashed Dangerfield into submission. Was a monumental win for the club, a turning point almost.

Also his shirt front on Dale Thomas against Carlton this season was beautiful.

All the best Bernie, you will be missed.

This was one of the great statement games by any MFC player IMO and a line in the sand moment for Bernie and the club that we were no longer just going to sit back and allow players/teams to roll  us in an easy fashion.

A great replacement for Sylvia (who pulled this off at the club in 2013...Todd??)  and couldn't have been a bigger contrast in selfish v selfless in the way these two went about it.

Paul Roos must have been well pleased with this acquisition and the response he was able to garner.

Although this year saw the game move past him a tad (as it does to every athlete at some point) you will be sorely missed mate.

Let's hope you get one more shot at finals should the cards fall your way.

Superb job both on and off the field.

Take a bow Bernie ??????

very sad that you won't be able to reap the fruits of your labour.

came to us in our darkest era and was an integral part in pulling us out of the rubble.

Thank you for everything Bernie, you will be missed.

A sad loss. Been an important player for the club. Real shame he won't get to be a part of september action for us.

Bless your cotton socks Bernie, you absolute legend!

Thank you for picking us, when picking us was a hard choice. Thank you for giving it your all, for your leadership and guidance, for your dedication and hard work, and for being selfless in your pursuit to make us a better club. Also thank you for all the times you destroyed Dangerfield.

Does he wear socks Jaded.  maybe bed socks ???

"if you are the one"

I wonder?  if any of our Women "Players",  would like a child ?  Yet.

He has been great for us and I agree that the time is right to finish up. Played some absolutely amazing games but unfortunately you could see that despite giving it his all, his body isn't what it used to be.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
