The brothers in arms Petracca  and Brayshaw. l can't and won't separate them, they are like my kids. I love them both   5 + = 10.

Very hard to split Oliver and Brayshaw but Oliver is just ahead for me, haven't loved a player this much since I first saw a young no52 from Shepparton.

Stinga, still my all time favourite Demon!!

All of them. Can’t choose, but I’m looking forward (hopefully) to reacquainting myself with my love for Viney.

For the girls, it’s almost a boring answer but you just can’t go past Daisy. Legend.

I couldn't decide. My wife got 13 on my jumper for me this year but I wouldn't have been disappointed with 11, 10, 5, or 7.

Special mention to Harmes Salem, and Spargo fast joining that list.

Also hard to go against number 2, my wife would run away with Jonesy.

So I have Oliver.

Wife has Jones.

5 year old has Petracca.

3 year old has Hunt.

When they kick the footy they always argue over who is going to be Petracca, my wife said one day "why doesn't one of you be Jonesy?" (Which is also the name of one of our cats) youngest says "I'll be Fiesty Girl" (the other cat)

Who was that?

Just saw from someone else's comments that it was Stinga Tingay. That's who thought of initially, remembering that he came from there.

Will always be one of my absolute favourites.

Stinga's top shelf!!!

Am torn between Nev( for sheer perserverance that has enabled his class to shine thru) , TMac (Pride) , Gus ( loves the club and had shown a lot of courage ), Clarrie ( for phoneboxfooty par excellence),Jonsey (for loyalty & effort) & Max (for being Max, for perserverance through injury issues), with Harmesy coming through fast.

I have to admit too, that when Mikshake was coming to Dees, I ran around the house to cool down.

So  my jumper does not have a number on it ,but is Navy & Red

I'm loving Frosty. Me and my sister get the lols everytime he gets it

Ive always been a sucker for unpredicatble unfashionable backmen like Alistar nicholson, Paul Prymke,

Oliver and Gus for me.  Oliver for the fact that he is so very, very special.  Gus, partly because of the issues he's had to overcome, but also because he just seems like a great kid.  I remember seeing him carry off Daniel Cross' kid after Crossy's last game, and I though then that Gus had quality about him.

I also like to try and find a diamond in the rough after each draft, and remember being very impressed with Nibbler in his first preseason.  There was a video about him not long after her was drafted, where he explained he was studying disability studies (or similar) because his grandma is in a wheelchair, so he wanted to learn about it more and work in the field.  (I think that's close to the story).  Thought then that he was a quality kid, and when I saw him at his first Maroochydore training camp, I could tell then that he had something about him from a footy perspective too.

Dom Tyson for me and then next would have to be Oscar MacDonald.

bit left of field but i love the work ethic and commitment to the club, both have suffered setbacks and both pick themselves up again and again.

(obviously i still love all the others, Clarry, Max, Nev, Gus, Harmes, Frosty, the list goes on)

This topic seems oh so simple, but who do we like? As a drunk 36 year old sitting at a pub in Amsterdam, I was perusing DL and realised I hadn't seen such a topic. Basically, who's ya boy? Who's jumper number would you get on your back after a 2018 flag?

I'm always a drunk 36 year old sitting at a pub in Amsterdam and Oliver is always my favourite.

I have been waiting a while, and I know he will pay dividends, but Christian Petracca for me.

Cannot split Maxy and Clarrie. Nev and Angus also great. Isn't wonderful that we now have so many name players? Very pleased Harmes has shown his real capabilty too. Love them all.

Such a tough call, Brayshaw and Jones are probably my slight favourites.

To all the Harmes supporters, I will add that he is probably the best at taking time to sign autographs for the kids in the pink shirt warm up, when the players are doing their own set shot stuff etc. He just really seems to be loving his footy at the moment, he'll always take photos and sign autographs with the kids and he normally has a bigger grin then them. ?

@dimmy

“phone-booth footy excellence” - I love it, coined a phrase perhaps, but it’s probably the most apt way to describe Oliver’s work ???

Tie for Clarry and Maxy, though some of the stuff Clarry is doing now is putting him in elite start category. We’ve got something special with him.

Neville Jetta, for his tenacity.

Love Nevs bear hug tackles, which include him strangling his opponent with his legs.

CLARRY  hands down, he can make the game look easy and stands out like Dogs   Bs  ha ha.

Nev for me, tough, reliable  and highly skilled

Nev is the third 'single favoured' so far on this page ... guess I am a tart for the boys, it is so hard to separate Clarrie, Gawnie and Nev, that's why. Each is just one step below the great Robbie, in my opinion, with Gus pushing up each game and yet, no-one will ever exceed Flower in terms of team contribution, skill, expertise, 'unbeatableness', heart and loyalty to the MFC. I still miss Robbie and wish we had another one these days. Just imagine if he was in the current team!

It's a nice fantasy, Robbie was magical!

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
