I will buy a Freo membership if they beat the Pies.

Sadly they don’t call them Failmantle for nothing ?

If Freo beat the Pies I’ll be a nervous wreck for the GWS game! Go Freo! (I just vomited a little)

There was blasphemy in the air at the weekend with shocking revelations from some Demon fans who admitted they were rooting for the Magpies to win their game against Port Adelaide. That is completely unacceptable for anyone dedicated to the red and blue cause and I call upon the Melbourne faithful to get behind Fremantle when they play Collingwood at Optus Stadium on Saturday evening at 4.35AEST.

Forget the Dockers’ disgraceful effort against Geelong at the Cattery - we all knew that coming from the temperate climate of Western Australia, the assignment of playing in blustery conditions on the cold windswept expanses of GMHBA Stadium was always going to be beyond them. However, they showed enough in the first quarter and a bit against the Cats to convince me that against the injury-depleted Magpies, with Nat Fyfe playing his second game after returning from injury and Ross Lyon pumped about his team’s rebuild, Fremantle are ready to exit the 2018 season with a Big Bang.

Dockers by 27 points.

If there is an ounce of Gumption at that Footy Club they will respond in a big way and beat the Pies.

They are turning the heat on the whole club over their, i expect a massive response.

I will laugh my guts out if freo win.

Oh for the love of Clive Waterhouse! Appreciation society? ?

I just want to go on record as saying this thread was renamed without my consultation and totally against my will.

On Talking Footy tonight, Darcy referred to Ross Lyon as a "quality person".

I didn't know that TF had become a comedy show.

Hope Freo get smashed in the media. They are getting off lightly so far.

Fyfe comes out and kicks 6 and has 55 touches

no faarkin chance though

You would prefer multiple threads on Demonland about the Fockers?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
