So nervous.

This is the most important clash we’ve been involved in in a decade.

God help my heart.

no its not. the geelong loss after the siren was just as big, as was the port and stkilda loss.  all of those games cost our season

I wonder if Gaff will be at the game watching on.

Perhaps he and Andrew Brayshaw will be watching together.

Look after yourself mate and be right for the finals.

I actually think I threw out my back after the geelong game... thanks for the advice.

Nervous as hell.

Hope the MCC bar staff are ready for the pre game onslaught I’m about to bring.

Completely relaxed.

Sydney are rubbish.  If we can't beat them and beat them comfortably then we don't deserve to play finals.

Naturally, I'll take a one point win, but I expect a 30+ point victory.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to post

Not to mention around 23 last year....

Forget Gawn , Oliver , Hogan, and Tom. Our most important player today is Frost.. if he holds Franklin to less than 3, we win

The Franklin paranoia is overblown I suspect. The Swans scores in our last four meetings are 86, 85 80 and 60pts

Having said that our top score has only been 50pts....I hope we are past those kind of scores against the Swans.

I predict the Dees by 34pts....

Living vicariously through one’s offspring is a parent’s prerogative. Especially when it comes to Lego and brainwashing (I mean influencing) in regards to football. My girls favourite songs right now are ‘Happy Dog’ by Justine Clarke and ‘Grand Old Flag’.

Yesterday I was at a cafe with my 5 year old and he told the staff that he wants to barrack for Richmond and that I wont let him, the waiter backed me and told him that he'd better fall into line and continue the family tradition if he knows what is best for him.

This time last week I was driving into Cradle Mountain, it was the start of the 1st qtr and reception on the radio was cutting in and out before deciding to turn it off. We checked into our room at qtr time and was blown away by the score. I promptly filled the spa and climbed in with a fat yak (and my beautiful girlfriend) to watch the rest of the game. We flew back last night and are raring to go for this afternoons game.

Massive game, we’re all aware what’s at stake, no excuses as we have the talent to get the job done.

Sitting back drinking complementry beers from the MFC and their agents talking over the final details of their new contracts with Jason Taylor and Todd Viney in the background...

the fans know how big this is, Goody knows how big this, the players know how big this. lets hope they have the belief in themselves and the hunger and desire to play finals footy.

also, what a great cause that this game will support, looking forward to a great clash in which i hope, pray and want the dees to get up.

Come on Melbourne!!!!!!

Been  a long week waiting for this. Soon will be leaving for MCG  .  Just  Please please win !@!!!!!!!!  even by 1 point.....  though  would like a comfortable win for my mental health.

If you look at what the Pies have done this year, Rd 23 last year doesn't look nearly as bad, even the North game to some extent.  Still can't get away from the fact that we both ran out of steam and choked though.

...not this time.

Hearing whispers of a late OUT! Hope if true its not Gawn!

For which side?

I will be following the Match Day thread today so please give a reasonably accurate account of the proceedings.

If we are in front, please indicate this!! :)

I'm working today, preventing any possible scorechecks until the game finishes at 6:00ish

Godspeed.

Where are all the Adelaide based Dees faithful watching today's match? Nervous and need to get out of the house for this one ?❤️?

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
