Round 21 Non MFC Games

Itโ€™s a shame Geelong have 2 easy games coming up would have liked to see them missย

Ok so now itโ€™s been apparently proven that a draw doesnโ€™t help Iโ€™m just going to focus on the benefit of the team who loses rather than anything else.ย

Need to try anything to make this work.ย

Lucky, that churchy trait gets Nathan Jones off the hook

The hawks can do some damage in the finals. With Clarko there anything is possible.ย

I have been worried for a while that the Dorks could snatch another flag this year if they get into the Eight, especially if they get top 4. Their team is not what it was but they just keep playing consistent,ย smart football and many of the other contenders are coppingย injuries or suspensions. Only the Tigers and perhaps an improving GWS ย are playing better footy. I hope we donโ€™t have to meet them early if we make the Eight. We more than match them on paper but we get outplayed and outcoachedย just about every time we play them.ย

I still don't think there has been enough focus on the cats and there current situation on the ladder. This is a team that has the like of Hawkins, Danger, Selwood, Menzel then they throw in ablett this year and they are currently sitting 9th.ย

They should be sitting top 4 but they aren't even in the 8. At the beginning of the season if you said with 3 rounds to go geelong would beย 9th you wouldn't believe it.ย

I just love the booing of Ablett.

I think they still can. My ladder predictor has North coming in. I tried to redo it but itโ€™s mid round.

And if they had lost the 2 games won after the siren against us they would be well out contention!ย

I had them finishing 9th in pre season ladder. They donโ€™t deserve to be there e specially after what they did to us this year.

you mean what we did to ourselves, they were just the bystanders.

well if we won those we'd be sitting 2nd. Argh!

That was a ridiculous free on the goal line before. Umps evening things up as usualย

Umpires getting involved now.

Wtf was that free to danger for??!?

We blew it, twice.ย

They get 8 points.ย

This is exactly whyย we as a whole,ย club and supporters, must learn to never accept even an honourable loss as anything near good enough.ย

The ramifications are right here in front of us ย

that said, we can still control our destiny, but Jeelong should have been killed off weeks ago

What does a draw do again?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFLโ€™s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.ย

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

Iโ€™ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we wonโ€™t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything youโ€™d like to ask or say below and weโ€™ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics youโ€™d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
