Cats might pinch this! They have an amazing ability to tear home in the last 10 minutes of games!

So hawkins misses from 20 metres out. It just frustrates the hell out of me that he always performs against us.

It wouldn't surprise me if this is a draw.

But the hawks haven't kicked a goal this quarter. Clarko would be going nuts.

Makes us have to win 2

As much as you can hate these teams they always put on a good show.

2 weeks in a row geelong have had close losses.

Any specific reason why Whorethorn scoring dried up in the last Q, or was it just a momentum swing after the cats got a sniff?

In the dying moments I was praying “NO DRAW”!!!  When the Hawks stuck the last one, that settled the nerves.

Suck on that Cats.

Selwood, Duncan choked under pressure

Thank god they didnt draw...  wow.   I was 100% sure they would just based on the fact its the worst thing that could have happened for Melbourne.

Can’t wait for these rule changes. Sick of watching this rubbish.

Their 2nd close loss in 2 weeks.

Should have been their 3rd in a row but we choked. They'd be dead and buried otherwise.

Wtf was that free to danger for??!?

In the back. But it should have been holding the ball against him before the hawk landed on him.  Furthermore it was very soft - plenty of more obvious similar in-the-backs not paid.

Can we lose all three - and make it?

mathematically

Geelong has played 6 games this year decided by 2 goals or less. They've lost 4 of them and won 2. Any guess who the 2 they've won were played against?

If we lose all 3 we dont deserve to make it.

from around half way through the last quarter Hawks looked like they were playing to save the game

Would need Geelong, North and Essendon to lose their last 2.

So no.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
