If there's a single lesson to be learned from this round so far, it's that you should never rely on the results of other games. You have to get the job done yourself.

If the team hasn't learned that lesson after the Round 23 debacle last season it will be so deflating for the supporters.  Finals are non negotiable from here.

We will find out in the next 4 games if we have finally taken the next step.  The biggest month of footy for this club in a long, long time.    It all starts today.

Can look at the weekend's results two ways.  Scary as hell because we can still easily miss the 8, or as a massive opportunity to rise up the ladder.

Go dees!

Let’s get the job done today Dees and set up the last 3 weeks. We have a taste for it now. No fuss, no frills. Just win.

Make other teams worry about us for a change.

All the best Vanders and well done Bernie on your 100th in Red and Blue.

Perfect weather is forecast, should be a great crowd and a percentage-boosting flogging.

Exactly what I thought before the St Kilda game :(

If we are 'on' today,  this may not be unrealistic.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Objective should be to win every quarter - one quarter at a time.

Exactly. Win each quarter 6 goals.

This thread is already sounding the same as the game day thread prior to every game we should have won by ten goals but managed to loose in typical Melbourne fashion!

Having said that, am taking my 5yo to the game with the expectation that her flag waving arm will get tired from the 25+ goals we will kick and the most nervous I will get at 3/4 time will be wondering if we will win by 15 or 20 goals ??

We are a 15 goal better side on paper, their midfield is utter trash, Jarrod Witts is their captain, and we have a top 4 spot up for grabs.

Watch us get rolled.

If they are in it at 3/4 time then they will truly believe, need to blast them in the first quarter and make them despondent and go through the motions.

It has been an incredible round.  One that should make the dopes running the AFL think twice about radical changes, such as an 18 metre goal square.

Win today and we get to roll that top eight team (Sydney next week) people carry on about.

A misnomer though, as every team in the top eight is vulnerable and, in my view, ordinary by historic standards.

It’s funny how reactionary the media are.

early every season we see high scoring free flowing games, then by about round 5 every coach ever has tightened things up defensively with the result games become tough lower scoring contests, then towards the end of the season, everything opens up again and you get ripping contests like the ones this weekend

Unfortunately thinking is not a skill they seem to have mastered @produce.

Nor being humble and admit the coaches are working it out themselves and backing out of the changes.

Go Dees let's grab this opportunity by the short and curlies

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
