I know we are taking things one game at a time but given that 3 out of our last 4 games are to be played at the MCG (and hopefully a few more after that at the same venue), I think we need to use this game to reassert our influence on our home soil. We did that a bit against the Bullies at our last outing but now it's time to take control of that ground and make it a fortress against any other club that enters.

Long overdue - it is and should be our fortress. It once was...

I don't like the focus on percentage/a big win for this game.

Let's just aim for the 4 points.

Yeah I’m exactly the same. More often than not with us you go in with this minimum margin we have to win by in your head and before you know it you’re in the last quarter down by 8 points and realising you’ll just take a win.

Will focus on % if the opportunity presents itself ala Carlton.

Beat the G Coast and that will put us on 12 wins and a possible one win away of consolidating ourselves in the eight.

It will be a fascinating one month of Footy watching the Dees. The last three games will separate the men from the boys.

We will learn a bit more about them. That's for sure !

They have so many players out, their Q is in the rack & even Carton smashed them ffs. Its on our home ground, we just had an 8 day break and we are playing for a spot in the finals........so normally....yes you would expect a loss.

.......but...... i think that Geelong loss really hurt. Max is a general out there these days and wont let it happen. Something around a 50 pt win should see us through. Go Dees, lets keep the faith.

We have the second best percentage in the league, we have to make sure it stays that way, beat the Suns by 20goals and we effectively have an extra game in hand on those chasing a spot in the finals.

187 points please.   GCS deserve their name in the record books. ?

All I have to say is DON'T LOSE.

Understatement. We lose this and I will be sending back my membership!

Need to win this game and one of the last 3 with the swans game looking the likely of them. It would also be the one that guarantees us a finals berth. Jarrod Lyons a dee supporter, highlights the need for this team to make the 8. It won’t change the world but it will mean a lot to those that have been there for the bad years.

Let’s shake and bake!

People saying they will just be happy with the 4 points for this game ... no! We need to win and we need to win BIG. Anything under 10 goals not acceptable in my eyes.

We have a tough last 3 weeks with key players out. We could lose all 3, but I'm thinking we will win 1 game of the 3 which could see us sneak into finals on % only.

If we are to lose the other 2 out of 3 games our % will drop. Teams around us have an easier run home where their % will build. Look for example at Geelong who we are neck & neck with. Their last 2 games are Freo & GC at GMHBA. North also have some easy games coming up (Brisb, Dogs & Saints).

We need to take this game and use it to our advantage. We must smash GC on our home turf and set ourselves up for the next 3 weeks. A 5 goal win just won't do it. Are we serious for crying out loud? I hope this game doesn't have vs. Brisbane R22 2017 about it.

I would like to see our first 200 point game.

Sydney were 29 points up before GC rolled them and were playing very well, then GC shut them down and applied pressure. I'm not assuming an easy win here.

I think we're better than Sydney.

Disagree Lobster! This is the business end of the season and contenders kick the [censored] out of weak teams. (it's happened to us often enough)

If we can't beat this rabble by a big percentage boosting margin then it's going to be  groundhog day 2017 for us.

Interesting that one of the newspapers was saying Gold Coast was a waste of AFL money back in 2015.

Not that it should affect how we play but their Membership was lower this year than it is right now.

Make it 191 and we can  get rid of the all time record ... which is also held by us.

Thanks demonstone.  I thought 186 was the all time record, but 191 ....... sheesh!  Make it 191 on Sunday please!  ?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
