Well done Bernie on your 100th for the Red and Blue v Gold Coast next Sunday.  He has been a wonderful player since arriving at the club in 2014 with Roos and Crossy.  We should all be grateful that he threw his lot in with us and as Roos has pointed out a number of times, he has played a significant role in increasing the professionalism around the club. 2015 B&F and now should he have kids good enough to play in the big league, they'll have a choice between the Crows and the mighty Demons!

Love Bernies contribution to the club. He arrived during the dark times and as you mentioned has improved our culture to no end. Congratulations Bernie!

One of my favourites. Has been great for our club and I wish him the best for a fantastic game on Sunday.

Bernie is a great one to have around the club. He likes a beer and is easy going off the ground by all accounts but when it's time to hit the track or it's game time, he is 100% professional.

The name is on the locker now so he is part of the club forever. Well done Bernie!

It would be very hard to fully repay what this guy has done for our club. People certainly weren’t bashing the door down to come here. So stoked that he gets to this 100 game milestone for us and knowing that his kids will have the option.

Love ya Bernie! Keep smiling! ?

Well played Bernard

September beckons with some more hard work...

with the right results a home final.

We named our cat Bernie and he said that there are over 100 cats named Bernie in Adelaide.  Thanks for being part of our Great club. You have won a Best and Fairest and now you play your 100th game. Hope you get to play finals. However you never know what else might be around the corner as well.

Your cat can talk?

Won BF at 2 clubs.  Quality get when were rubbish

Time flies...

Thanks Bernie. Now go create some father / sons for us.

Fine servant of this footy club. Has provided leadership and maturity since crossing from adelaide.

100 games for 2 club is a massive achievement let alone 2 best and fairests.

Well done Bernie.

Yep.  Bernie is good value.  After the game on Sat night they asked him if he was allowed to smile, now he had a win.  He had a chuckle, and said he still covered his face with his hand when he had a chat to Tex "just in case...".  LOL

He's one of a rare breed who knows when to give it all (before the final siren), but who can then lighten up and enjoy life with his mates, including those now wearing oppo colours.

Well done, Bernie.  VERY glad you're a Dee!

The Crows sure could have used Bernie over the last few seasons but...

their loss..Our gain!

Thanks Adelaide.

Thanks Bernie.

I tried to talk my niece in naming her unborn child Bernie. She is a Dees supporter and I remember we sat down and went through the list. She picked out a few names like Jake, Oliver, Jesse and Jordan but unfortunately she had a girl.

She is pregnant again so I am sure we will go through the same process again with the footy record.

She's never heard of Bernice? or Bernardette?

Would likely choose Crows, his kids...unless we win a flag while he's playing.

Has a real estate agency in Melbourne so wonder if he will stick around he after he retires?

IMO is having his second best season after his B&F season. Been consistently reliable and accountable in defense. Had an up and down season last year but has found a new role this year.

Hows this year been his 2nd best year when hes already been dropped once, and showing signs of slowing down?

2014 to last year have been some of his most consistent years of footy he's had over his football career.

In my opinion hes probably gone a year too long, but we've gotten 100 consistent games off him and thats all we've asked.

Been a great servant for the club after coming to us at our lowest point. Hopefully one crack at GF spot before hanging up the boots and the end of the season.

Loved him as a Crow, couldn't believe we got him so cheap when we did... was a bit critical of the pickup as I didn't think he'd play in a winning final for us as we were so many years off it. But I was wrong about that... has added to the club as much as anyone on the list in the period he's been there. Should be remembered as a demon for all time. Father sons etc...

Yeah that was a silly comment. 14-16 he was very consistent. Last year he did the job as a serviceable half back. I had doubts about him playing this year more because I didn't think he'd be best 22 (and still don't) and I wanted to see what younger guys like Wagner and Joel Smith had to offer but with Lever, Hibberd and Hunt all out injured he's mostly kept his spot. Very deserving of the 100 club games because the first 40 in particular were hard going.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
