Fantastic news! In a week where feelings were at a low, this brings sunshine to my soul at least.

Heal well young one, heal well.

First time I have smiled all week. Great news.

I bet he signed perfectly on his non-preferred hand too ?

Brilliant! Haha

Great news, that just about wraps up all the top end of the list doesn't it?

Just Oscar to go now.  Then the hard decisions on some of the fringe players begin.

Great news.

To think I had him the gun as a potential trade bait earlier in the year.

I feel quite dirty now.

me too, primarily cos he was an obvious 'asset'

ecstatic to see his turnaround in form, and more than happy for him to stay and continue on the way he's going

Wow North's war chest must be HUGE now!  Haha

Outside of Gaff and Lynch (who isn't considering Norf), is there anyone of note left on the free agency market?  They might have to wait another year... again.

Good choice by Gus and perfect timing for the Dees! Will lift Demon players and supporters spirits alike and provide an infectious and much needed optimism leading into the big match this week against the Crows. GO DEES!

Are there many hard ones ?

Onya Gussy lad. This current core will take us to a flag ?

Now that is good news. I needed to hear something positive after last weekend.

Blind positivism Monde.

We still have glaring holes.

good result, now to just fix his cleanliness with the ball up

cleanliness is next to godliness, lets NOT clean him up too much.

I want him playing more like a Demon !    like I do the rest of the side.

@old dee I disagree. We could use a couple of cherries on the top of the cake but at full strength our spine is set.

except we still don't have a chb

lever is not (imo) a kp defender

spot on dc, what / who do we have to give up to get one?

Must be the new tactic for list managers across the league.  If a player stalls on signing a new contract, just threaten to trade him to North.

He’ll be signed up by the end of the week.

Maybe enter Steven May?

At the very least, it would allow Lever to truly play as the intercept defender. A backline of Frost and Oscar doesn't fill me with confidence.

Hopefully after another pre-season Harrison Petty is ready to step in. However we could look to trade for one. I daresay Tyson could be used as trade bait, he could net us a second rounder to on trade for a KPD. Will be a fascinating off season

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
