Goodwin has the arsenal, he is a stubborn and dangerous coach. Pathetic coaching effort and team selection.

Again, I don't get this.  Be angry, shattered, annoyed, frustrated, whatever you want.  After that you have every right.

But poor selections?  We lost by 2 points to the Cats on their home deck.  We did plenty right.

But when the heat was on we wilted.  That's not down to selection, that's down to mindset.

I would be pretty happy if they held a press conference tomorrow announcing his sacking. totally incompetent

I’m the wildest I’ve been in a long time and it’s thanks to being too emotionally invested in this fucken football club.

Should’ve iced that game a minute out when Petracca had the ball. Where was the leaders saying to cool it rather than let him bomb the fucken thing long?

FML.

For as bad as I feel, this is a silly comment.  We're still in sixth.  While the loss was shattering, we played out of our skin for three quarters at one of the hardest away grounds to play on in the competition.

Finals is still well and truly alive.

Agree. We just lack the experience Ablett, Danger, Selwood, Hawkins, etc. They stood up when it mattered. Life goes on. A little sadder, more frustrated, but pretty hopeful for te future. Maybe not this year but not too far away.

We still need to make up the Saints game, which means beating three of Adelaide, Sydney, GWS and West Coast. That's provided we beat Gold Coast.

True.

However, the Swans proved today they are more than beatable.  The Crows are too, even in Adelaide, a ground we play well.  The Eagles will be tough, and so will GWS, but we get them at the G.  We have the talent and ability to win 3 of those.  Plus the Suns game.  Finals are still well and truly alive.

I’m not gonna talk about it either.

I am too angry. Frost was a better option that our dumb coach tried far too late.

How long can we keep being losers?

I said to my daughter at 3/4 time that u can see us losing this by a couple of points cause that’s what melb does.

FFS it continues to be gut wrenching despite it happening over and over again.

If Trac needs a leader to tell him to slow it down in that situation then the poor decision is down to Trac, not the leaders.  It's common sense.

It's a shame as I thought he played pretty well tonight.

Don't understand all the OMac hate. He had a bad night but has been very good for most of the year. If you are looking for somewhere to pour your vitriol, try these:

Petracca doing a blind barrel with no target or purpose.

JKH missing a simple unhurried snap.

No third man up coming across Hawkins - not once in the last quarter.

Lewis, Jones and Vince - not one of them dropping back to fill up he space in front of Hawkins - not one.

This coach does not know how to read the game and play the percentages.

We needed shut down their forward line instead we opened it with our players all playing high chasing the ball.

Biggest lesson here should be learned by the coach, not the players.

Top 4 spot lost.

Really im annoyed at petracca for thinking a torp was a good idea, jkh should have kicked that last goal and again we missed easy tackles. We missed easy goals and we should have been able to hold out the final minute.

For a supporter of any other club, if they could choose any team the be behind against in a close match in the 4th they'd be crazy if they didn't choose Melbourne. And I don't just mean the groups of this year and last year. I mean the Melbourne Football Club.

The club that doesn't want to do what needs to be done when things get tough. Simple.

Yes, there was a lot of the inevitable about the way we lost... but we didn't just curl up and roll over! I agree with the tactical stuff up with Gawn off early last qtr... but if you ever get the courage to watch the final minutes you will see two teams giving everything they could to win the ball and send it forward. JKH needed that goal for his own career... but he wasn't a passenger. Frost was amazing with his last desperate dash out of defence. Its a fine line between pleasure and pain. I see the game as a move forward in the teams development... This group know the CAN win in whatever Hellhole they find themselves in... Heartbreaking, yes... but I see it as character building! I'm not going to argue the point... Its just my opinion.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
