Eddie mentioned a couple weeks back the spooky resemblance of Keith Truscott and Clayton Oliver and I think he has point.image.jpeg.d9f2c58af5f8eca376ecc3983b063111.jpegimage.jpeg.632ed392eb4bb82f2b0ccbca4b666844.jpeg

OP clearly states 'good' players. Don't want to slag off Troy and have no idea of who Stuart Spencer is - otherwise the red pen may have got more of a workout.

Yes, I'll give myself an uppercut to my still taut jowls which were formed this side of Vietnam War.

Last played in 1956. Nobody under the age of 60 would have seen him play. Ridiculous to expect people to know much about him.

Speaking of Matty Bate...

Apparently he gave up on his motivational YouTube series to hawk health products (though this is a bit aged).

Edit: Nope. This came out the same time as the motivational videos.

That's Stuart Spencer. Not surprised that bandwagon fans haven't heard of him. Was clearly a dud...

Yeah, maybe I am an old bugger but my levels of support involve learning about the history of our team. I guess that sort of interest is what separates us diehard Demons from the fairweather fans.

Nope, never saw Stuart play but did in fact meet him whilst he was our Prez. A true gentleman and one of our clubs legends.

Clarry looks to have eaten half a grouper with 200 dollars worth of chips in this pic.

Thank god he pulled his head in with his professionalism.

Weird post. Of course people could use Google to look him up, but that requires knowing the name first. Skuit said he had never heard of him - that makes Googling him a challenge.

As for Norm Smith: I grew up a Melbourne supporter by choice rather than indoctrination, outside of Victoria, in the 90s. I was an adult before I knew Smith was a Melbourne player, because how else would I have known? Through my English father or mother who only followed local footy?

And sorry, but I just don’t understand the obligation to know the ins and outs of ancient history regarding the club. I was born 19 years after our most recent premiership. It’s nice that the older generation are able to reminisce about past glory - I envy the heck out of that, but ultimately I don’t really care. It’s irrelevant to me. It’s also a tad hypocritical - I don’t read too much about the heroics of whoever in the 1900 grand final.

No mate, it’s what sorts the history buffs from the non-history buffs.

It’s just a list of redhead Demons players. Posters can choose from there.

I never saw Ivor Warne Smith , Bluey Truscott but their names are among the legends of our club.

I'm happy with that idea. Maybe, the fact they pulled on a Melbourne Jumper makes them top players.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
