Just another fluffy opinion piece. Not based on any serious journalistic info just expressing his opinion wgich we all think is no good

I'm not sure why people think that Gaff is a good fit for us. He is an outside accumulator yes but he is very one-paced and known to be poor defensively. Exactly what we don't need. The guys we need are guys that are quick and defensive minded. Guys like castagna etc.

He is everything we need, old, injury prone, expensive, small, looking for a retirement nest egg and seeking some personal quick success at the expense of an MFC player who might have earned it.

TBH, I would have Murphy if he was available. On the wages listed that’s sod all, wouldn’t cost us draft picks and could be the cherry on top.

He is a good footballer in a crap side. Has also proven a good footballer in a good side. I’d rather him on a wing than Tyson, Vince or Lewis and hell, play him off half back from time to time and also in the middle. As stated in the article, a small a fall back if Gaff goes elsewhere.

You clearly haven't been watching Gaff this year then. His increased inside work and defensive 1%ers have taken his game to a new level. As a RFA he could come at no cost to our draft placement. He would be a very good fit at the Dees in 2019

Thanks Moony, good info, haven't had a chance to watch Gaff yet. Think WCE are on telly tonight so will keep an eye on him.

Beat me to it. He’s a big reason the Eagles are so competitive this season.

I"ve been watching Gaff, doing a bit more inside work out of necessity, but whole team is playing well

Went missing last couple of years when it was tough going, he is a downhill skier

Normal wettin of pants on here when a player gets a bit of media attention

I was thinking no, but you’ve swayed me Red with irrefutable logic.

I hear the Lions need mature players. and leaders.

So, of the mature inside Mids in free agency, would you have Murphy first, or Sloane ?

This is my main concern, with our current Mid setup. We are currently very one paced, across most of the field.  Too much so, for the big games.

Now that we are topping off our weaknesses, we need to add more speed.

This choice this year, is possibly the last big name we can bring in.

So IMO we must get someone who has at least some genuine speed, or a turn of speed.  And good decision maker under pressure.

I noted DeGoey's kicks, early in the game on Monday under pressure, were very good, and hit the targets, which resulted directly in goals.  So DeGoey is dangerous when forward, and when up around the middle.

Maybe he is a genuine centreman, in waiting ?

Marc should have left 2 years ago if he wanted to go.

only desperate team will go from him - St Kilda, north.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
