Not thrilled about it. Always a fan and we don't have a lot of players like him with speed who can kick a goal. He wants the opportunity, fair enough.

2nd rounder please, was crucial in our win in the west in round 22.

Be strong Demon Draft Committee.

Shame his body couldn’t hold up. Enjoyed watching him at full flight and gave us one of the best moments in 2018 with his long goal in the West.

Good luck Kenty, hope it works out for you.

No less than a second round pick

Been offered 3 years, whereas we probably only offered 1 or maybe a second with a trigger (not get injured all the time!!). I really like what he brought when he was out there, but in reality he's fighting with Melky, Trac, Spargo, ANB, Fritsch and then jeffy and JHK for 3 or4 spots in the team each week.

Has asked to be traded to the saints.

Got a link to something, mate? I believe you, just wouldn't mind reading/hearing more about it.

I’m a fan of Kent. Liked him for our best 22 next year. Sad to see him go

good luck Kenty

Shame to lose him, has potential but is no use to us when always injured, package up with Tyson for something half decent. If Kent and Hogan go, thats 9 list changes already? Sweep that broom lol

It’s a shame he couldn’t get a good, injury-free run at it. Good luck Kenty.

St Kilda dont have a 2nd or 3rd round pick currently

What??  SO how will they trade for Dean?  A future pick?  A player swap?

There is quite a breeze of change on the list - Although apart from Dean and the retirements, all are VFL standard.

Could not agree more. Hope he gets a good run but a slight hammy when playing us!

Saints have pick 3 and next is 57, offer 51 and Kent for Billings

St Kilda wouldn’t let him go for any less than an early first round pick.

The writing was always on the wall - there had been rumblings during the season that he wanted to push up to the midfield, and I don't think he would get that with us.

With him being out of contract I can't see us getting a whole lot for him but, then, is he worth a whole lot? If the Saints get their hands on a third rounder you would probably take it.

This sucks! One of my favorites. I rate him easily best 22 and light years ahead of Spargo, ANB, Garlett, JKH, etc.

Early first rd for Billings, you have to be kidding.

He is a 2nd rounder at best

That’s his value, not what it’d take to get him. Saints seriously overrating their list

I think Kent is worth a pick between 30 and 40 which the Saints don't have.

Might have to form part of the Pruess trade; hence a three way deal.

Sad to see him go.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
