A minute to go until half time and langdon is already up to 21 disposals and has kicked 2.0

Do whatever it takes to get him to the Dees!

Only 4 more disp for the match, Dazzle. Must be cooling his jets getting ready for landing at the Dees!

Didn’t want to pump his trade value up too much. Good lad.

In all seriousness, I’m not sure what it will take to get this deal done. Peter Bell just seems like a real curveball.

Our second rounder, be prepared to walk away if they want more. There's always that Cutler bloke who would cost a lot less.

Langdon is our number 1 target.

Ironic as we could have selected Langdon ahead of Oscar McDonald.  !?!?!?

Some talk Brandon Matera may also look elsewhere, showed this year he was a dangerous small forward. i wonder if we could get him as well?

We need to look at anyone who can tackle and kick a goal.

Butler, Papley, Sam gray, Shai Bolton, Jarrod Cameron, Jack Petruccele.

In m mind we need two of these guys for next season.

Its the simplest of trades that really should get done very quickly. He is not worth a 1strounder and is better than a late second rounder. our 2nd pick is going to be around 21ish.. if it gets complicated then it son Freo and its on us. we say pick 21. take it or leave it.

I am a big fan of Cutler, we could get him for a 3rd rounder.

I don't know anything about Cutler. Is he on a list now?

Yeah he is on the Lions list, has suffered from injuries this year and then the Lions going bang he has struggled to get back into side.

Wouldn't speak too soo.

I've heard O-Mac will be a future AA for us from multiple demonlanders.

Several even.

Maybe because he didn’t want to leave last year?

FFS. Ridiculous post. Par for the course, but ridiculous nonetheless.

Right. So he didn't want to leave at the end of 2018 to join a team that was widely viewed as being a premiership contender, but now that we're a basket case he's happy to come across. Some people will believe anything.?

Omg. Maybe add Omcd to Freo in the deal.

I cannot believe we are not throwing the sink at papley. Would take ANBs spot and fit our forward line and age demographic perfectly

How do you know we aren't?  How do we know we have enquired and been told he's not interested?

You might be right, but in truth, we know nothing.

He didn’t want to leave Fremantle last year, whether to go to Melbourne or any other club.

You’re currently upset that we didn’t trade for him last year when there is no evidence he had any interest in moving, so you’ve just made something up in your head.

There is some supreme hypocrisy/irony in the bolded line.

I wanted Papley as well, but he's likely going to Carlton.  Let's see what they pay for him and that might explain why we aren't chasing him.

It all comes down to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in most cases. Papley is a very good player, but not worth $750k if that is what North or Carlton might be prepared to offer. I have no info on what the offer might be.

Not sure which is worse us not asking about Papley or being told 'no thanks'.

True.  Who knows what is happening behind closed doors, but after this season, I'd like to think we are leaving no stone unturned in improving our list.  No doubt some players might knock us back, but I think that would be similar to any year no matter where we are on the ladder.  We can't win them all.

As Clint mentioned above, it may be a money issue - Jack Martin may be demanding money we can't afford or are unwilling to pay.  If we are into Ed Langdon then a large chunk of what we have to pay and therefore we are looking at the opportunity to offload others, or we are going to attempt to fill some gaps through the draft.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
