Thank you Barry Prendergast. ?

The One thing he got right?

Great news! i used to hate this guy in the past as a backman with his poor foot skills and decision making, now I love him as a forward for his straight kicking. I love the turn around!

It makes me wonder why he wasn't trialled as a forward earlier in his career. He was a forward as a junior, and whether we needed key position defender is irrelevant when he is a lot better as a forward.

Last week at the dogs game, I noticed Oscar Mcdonald having shots for goal and he was slotting them beautifully with great technique. I wonder whether he could go forward in the same manner. On the other side, I wonder if Weideman could play back. He has the speed  and aerial prowess but he wouldn't need to mark it. Simply bring it to ground. Food for thought.

Fantastic news! First picked for me.

Not sure he is ready yet but under the right circumstances i wouldn't mind seeing this trialed either.   Worth a look when the timing's right and might become a solid tall defender for us.

Another "happening"" that reflects well on the Club and the player.

Deal done quietly and quickly, not allowing rumour mongers to spin their web of deceit.

Honesty and goodwill on both sides.

Brilliant, brilliant news. Tom is an absolute gun and four years is the minimum contract length I was hoping for. That will see him right through the prime of his career, and will hopefully ensure he is a Demon for life. Well done to all involved.

Now for Oscar and Gus.

Who in their right mind would want to leave this club anyway?

The place is buzzing and we’re on the cusp of something special

Oh yes Right on

now i can board my flight to Cambodia in a relaxed vibe

TMac is the most important player on this list.

Demons can still win this year...

Its hard to disagree with this point. His flexibility to play multiple roles as required to an elite standard is potentially the difference between us being good or great. Making up the numbers or having a serious shot.

We got better as soon as he went forward

he takes grabs and rarely misses

Congrats Tommy, well deserved. Now smash the pies!

I suspect he wanted to play with Gaff next season, hence the re-signing.

Great news. Thanks Tom.

Interesting. What do you base that on? Are they school chums?

Heard Tommy on SEN last month and he said he wanted to stay a Demon ? true Demon.

OH YERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

The senior players at this club are leading by example and buying in. You could see the delight on the skipper as he was chaired off the ground last week.  And a week earlier Pedo was a great team mate cheering and clapping every player as they came off the ground at Alice.

Fantastic.
Was pretty confident he'd stay to play with his brother now we're on the rise.
Absolutely stoked to have his name on the dotted line.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
