We've been busy singing the praises rightfully of a few players lately but I think the form of Nate Jones my be missed by some.

His 2017 form was nothing flash but he is certainly back at his best this year if not better.

No one deserves success more than Nathan.

Nate has been a great of the Club, and his desire for success in Massive.

And he has  a few left in him.

Thanks Nat.  It would be good if he was still el capitano, if we Won a silver cup?

I mentioned on the podcast last night that I had been remiss in mentioning Jonesy the past few weeks. I think it always goes without saying that he gives 120% every time he steps on the field. I love this bloke. Bleeds Red and Blue and my dream is to see him lift the cup up one day. Car washes for life if it comes to fruition.

Great point in the OP. While he still can have a bad turn over kick/brain fart he has been exceptional this season with Viney out and the team warming the engine up. Kudos Jonsey, here is hoping he can get to play plenty of finals however long he has left.

His form and efforts in 2018 = inspirational excellence.

Yeah the other good thing is the performance of the rest of the team makes it difficult for opponents to determine who to track, Jonesy has thrived on this and slipped through quite a few times!

Much attributed to him playing on the ball where he belongs.

2017 he was tried on the wing and half back.

Jonesy has stuck fat with Melbourne through his hole career, even when they were shizen under the fingernails. I cannot think of a man ( captain ) who has earnt the right to hold up a premiership cup as much as Jonesy. He bloodywell deserves one.

I would love to take my grandkids to the G one day in the far future and point to the statue of Jonesy and proudly tell them about this warrior.

Well said.  The cup for him first though pls.  Then the legend cemented in stone.

Chunk was (is) the glue, the sweat, the never say die spirit that has stuck and seen us through good times (tail end), not so good, horrid, the recovery and now hopefully some light at the end of a very long tunnel.

A more loyal and consistent Demon I have not seen this side of Tulip.

I can’t think of another MFC player that has been so consistent week in week out over such a long period.

He may not be our greatest player of all time but he goes close to being the most consistent.

He is the modern day Robbie Flower story, not just because of his jumper number, but because they both suffered through years and years of playing in a rubbish team but didn't walk, even though they both could have lined their pockets with wads of cash by going elsewhere

I love Chunk. Nobody on the list deserves success in finals more than him.

CLUB man.

Love the emotion.

Think many of us feel like you do but you have expressed the key features that make this guy so loveable and so Melbourne.

He is a deadset legend.

[censored]! His great form has occurred since he went into the middle--where he belongs.

I'm not of the same opinion as some are on here about "playing in a rubbish team" and i would think they, Jones and Flower, would have strong contrary feelings about that themselves. In competition, as in many things in life you take your lot, and i think these blokes would be saddened to hear that some supporters use generally condescending terms to refer to something, save for score results, they wouldn't have known anything about.

Loved watching him with a grin from ear to ear as he walked off the field last Sunday.

His kicking and work in and under is a joy to watch.

Watching him lift the cup would be so sweet.

He's dodging tacklers like he's covered in grease and seems to have a bit more time in executing his decisions. Having a ripper season so far, is Jonesy

And not weak kneed either. like a cretain catter.

His ability to churn out such consistent high quality games despite the bash and crash that goes with being a hard at it inside midfielder doesn’t get the acknowledgment it should. Hope his body and his form can hold on long enough to get the ultimate team reward he deserves.

Time is surely ticking for Jonesy

My brain didn’t understand why he was sitting on the ground and taking so long to get up on the weekend. It’s never happened before.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
