I don't judge De Goey but whatever allegations that have been made against him whilst overseas, but I do question his judgment in going overseas in the first place. The timing of those trips screams of lack of professionalism, as it seems that football is a means to his lifestyle.

Personally, I think the "No DH Policy", is a load of rubbish. Martin Pike was seen as the ultimate DH when at Melbourne, and ended up a 4-time premiership player. Roos admitted that we had the chance to get Toby Greene, but he was seen as a DH. As long as players abide by whatever the club require of them, I couldn't care less what they're like off the field. Although I might draw the line if they love Rap music. (A reference to all the TISM fans).

I always call Trent Rivers "He'll never be an old man river" but it hasn't quite taken yet.

A mate who is a huge Collingwood supporter puts this failure squarely at the feet of Nathan Buckley. As you point out Axis of Bob, they had a great young list that never reached heights it should have, particularly 2012-15.
My mate is getting great satisfaction watching them play now under McRae . He also thinks De Goey should go and Foxtrot Oscar

No offence to your mate but I hope his satisfaction ends soon.

I believe @Colin B. Flaubert is hoping to come to Aus from Japan for that very gig.

Enjoy it, Mo!

I've still got the first TISM single that I bought back in the 1980s, the title of which would not pass the censors on this site (initials are "D.O.M.F.").

It's a 7" single that came packaged in a 12" cardboard sleeve that was glued on all four sides, so you had to break into the packaging to get to the actual record.  Those wacky funsters!

De Goey and Tobey Greene rather support a no DH policy.  They are often missing and are very high maintenance.

Pike is alleged to have been exported for a specific unforgivable act at Melbourne which need not be mentioned or speculated at this late date.  Whereas as far as we know, he just generally got on the turps elsewhere.

Hear me out..

What if Brayshaw goes ( and i believe it is really 50/50 at the moment) and Jackson goes.

Leaves us with about 1.5mill to spend.. we get an end of first round compo for Angus..  get 2 first round picks and lets say a player like Meek, a ruckman that we actually need.

leaves us with 3 first round picks.. id imagine somehow we get a top 10 pick from Freo and there original first round pick.. maybe 14/15 plus pick 20 for angus after possible priority picks and FS picks (if there are any, im not sure this year)

DeGoey would have to be a thought, it would cancel out Angus pick and yes not many like him, but he can play.. and would play mainly forward i reckon.

or we bundle pick 20 and pick 15 to give to some club for an earlier pick and aim to have 2 picks inside top 10.

SO many possibilities.

Pies are chasing McStay as well, so they won't get free agent compensation if De Goey leaves.

Now let me get this straight picket - you're saying you're opposed to DeGooey coming to the Dees ?

Please be patient with Picky he used to be so uncertain and now he is not so sure

This is classic Demonland.

Someone revived a thread that’s 4 YEARS OLD, and now it’s splintered into 3 extra pages of people screaming No, a side argument about when forgiveness should and shouldn’t be given, and a thread within a thread about an 80’s alternative band.

Bless you all.

Do you live with your ex wife?

That must make it difficult on so many levels.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
