I was at the game when Cameron Bruce kicked 7 and we beat them by 105, forgot this sweet feeling! Total team performance we never let up

Everyone contributed, enormously and we really went for the ball with a 'biff'. Melksham and Harmes never gave up. Gawn was brilliant and so was everyone else. Feel sorry for Pedo, as his game would have been a highlight today. Garlett, too. Still, we needed the percentage and we blodddy well went out and got it!

I’m so happy I don’t have any smart arse jokes.

Can you and Nasher please upgrade the server the night before every game for the rest of the year? ?

Thank Christ the website update worked overnight.

imagine if we had nowhere to gloat after that performance!

Carlton have a fan forum, don't they? ?

Commentators saying Carlton are a young side that is their excuse. Unfortunately for them we were younger. No research lip flappers. Go Deeeees!

Just stopped staring at the AFL ladder for 5 minutes.

You are forgiven. I worked it out last night and expected an 8 goal win with the 4 pts - blew my percentage arithmetic away.

Must admit i was waiting for a ease off to come, but it didn't happen, just more goals and much more pressure. Just amazed.....????

cant wait to bring my demon scárf to my Carlton supporting mate next weekend. I would have had to wear his if we lost

That was a clinical dismantling. That’s what good sides do. We continued to harass and work hard and crack in for 4 quarters. We took first options.  We played like every goal should be celebrated and every goal hurts. All without a huge impact from Oliver, Viney and Hogan. Those that think football no longer has positions and you just have backs, Mids and forwards watch Fritsch play a wing and Brayshaw play a ruck rovers role. Those two and Tmacs return has completely changed our shape.

Bit too friendly in here for mine

Petracca and Hogan quiet. I would drop them both. Better?

I hope every single Melbourne supporter enjoyed every minute of that today.

That performance could not have gotten any better, and after the last decade and with what we've put up with it's so satisfying to put Carlscum to the sword.

And think about this... Hogan had just one goal.  Oliver and Viney were relatively quiet.  Hibberd was tagged out of the game.  Yet we still kicked 25 goals and made the Blues look like an Under 11 side.

Melksham was BOG for me and what a recruit he has been.  Not only did he kick 5 but he set up heaps with his sublime skills.  McDonald kicked a bag, ANB got in on the act, Brayshaw continues to get better and better while the kids like Fritsch and Spargo are doing the same.  Just a total team performance.

Special mention to Bull Smith as well - he battled manfully in the ruck and did some excellent work around the ground.

I love this bloody club and I hope you all do, too!  DEMONS!!!!

His 45 metre, inside 50 pass to TMAC who handballed it on to Hannan for a goal, was an exemplar of his decision making and execution skills... long may Brayshaw have a good clear run of injuries.

For a brief moment I felt sorry for Carlton (only because I went to the game with my best friend who is a Carlton supporter)... but then I realized that nobody gave a stuff when we were garbage and I deserve this after years of suffering

What a game to go out on before I go away for 3 weeks!

I’ll give it a crack DA

I think we’re in trouble next week - surely the team has to be completely knackered after kicking 46 goals in the last two weeks.

Good to see we are sent to Northern Territory next week in the match of the round while Carlton enjoy another Friday night match the following week.

Our biggest win since 1993. Amazing accuracy.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
