Smith has tackled well so far. Done his bit

Great first half. One more strong quarter and they’re gone

Much, much better quarter of footy.

7 goals to 2 is a big tick and proof our forward line is now clicking.  We missed Tommy Mac badly in the first part of the season.

Oliver, Viney and Hogan have been quiet by their standards but we are well on top which is further proof of the depth of talent and quality we have in this side at the moment.

Smith has had 9 touches, 3 marks, 4 tackles and a few hitouts as well.  Some are knocking him but I think he's been terrific so far.

He's obviously the decoy today. Working well so far.

I'm just wondering if he needs a run on the ball, ruck or ruck-rover. Let him get some frustration out around the ground.

Send TSmith forward?

Strong second quarter.

Repeat that in the third and we can enjoy the final quarter.

Jones playing well.

I thought brayshaw was quiet that quarter after a strong first quarter

How is  a team 5 goals up but  have 5 frees less?

The baggers would've been told by Gil that Curnow cannot play or it would make the AFL look silly (whoops), so they came up with some bullsh!t quad injury, but in return they'd get a sweet ride from the umps.

Carlton play a tough contested brand of footy, but just have far too many crap players. No coaching or game plan can help when you’ve got the likes of Kerridge who rack up possessions on the wing, turn inboard and kick a scrubber along the ground in to the centre and turn a clear avenue to goal in to another contest.

We’re in 3rd gear. Find 4th and we will annihilate them.

And Plugger McDonald, you are a star.

I don't mind Tom McDonald as a forward. Anyone else?

Nah preferred him as a back with his questionable kicking

Might as well get tommy signed up sooner rather than later, he would be getting some big offers I would be chasing him instead of lynch if I were opposition clubs

Excellent second quarter

Dominated everywhere but the scoreboard in the first quarter and then put it on there in the second

Will be very disappointing if we don’t really bury them from here

Lever dominant across half back, mids all doing well and Plugger Mac (sorry mum) absolutely glorious up front

Yet his goal kicking is perfect.  Just needs to visualise our players as goal posts :)

Oliver I thought has hardly touched it. Looked and he is leading all dees with 14...

Fritsch is the one for me, super clean, composed, takea the right option. Such a good selection.

Milkshake has been amazing today and Plugger... oh how i love him playing forward.

We did the same last week, where we couldn’t turn dominance early into a good lead. But if you maintain that then eventually the floodgates open and you can start hitting the scoreboard. Especially later in the game.

We are playing a really strong brand and we are maintaining that, which is bringing results. That shows a bit of maturity, which we’ve lacked in past seasons.

Why?

Was getting outmarked far too easily.

Better this quarter.

There are turnovers and there are turnovers, Vince's turnovers are almost always in dangerous area they tend  to lead to goals. And some want to give him another year

Eddie McGuire's commentary is disgusting. Blatantly barracking for Carltank. What is he thinking?

Carlton aren't a threat to his beloved Pies.  We are.  That's why he's barracking hard for them.

its like we were in past years in it for awhile then run over us,hope we give it back to them

Similar happened last week. When we used to lose the frees it was because we were losing and not as hard at it, now we are hard at it we still lose the frees. It is just like Friday night games, apparently we would get them when we started moving up the ladder too, hahahahaha, not holding my breath.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
