Sometimes you got no other choice but to pick someone who's in Reich vein of form in the VFL.

A Reich vein of form? What does that look like? Driving Panzers around blasting defenders to smithereens?

It’s still funny

People on here saying form line for some players is questionable because we have been playing bottom teams, then advocating

jeffy's inclusion because of a good game in the VFL ????

No a i think a Reich vein of form is more along the lines of starting strongly and rolling a couple of easy beats, biting off more than you can chew against a side with a huge numerical advantage, making some major Worsfold like strategy errors (really should have played Engalnd at home early in the season) before ultimately bombing out and failing to make the finals

Weids and Spargo are the future. Pedersen and Garlett are the present.

Viney to take Dom who resets for the Adelaide game. And I do mean re-sets not rest.

Looks perfect, not a breath of wind, rain or snow. With it being a replacement game, and no snow in the hills, there’s no reason not to go really.

Both Curnow boys sent directly to the tribunal for intentionally touching an umpire.

Ed will certainly be suspended, but I didn't see the Charlie one. Charlie starred against us last year in the second encounter.

Based on Hawkins Ed will cop a week.

Charlie was lighter but still forced Stevic back a couple of steps.

No malice in either, but what a stupid week to do it after the attention Hawkins got. Both will get a week, Ed maybe 2.

Looks to me like Charlie was just stopping the umpire from possibly getting too close to the scuffle. That’s what I’d argue if it were one of our players anyway.

Even this was the case, you can’t touch the umpire.

1 week.

Whilst I would love for both Curnow boys to be out, what you can't see is where Charlie is even looking, I suspect he has noticed something in his peripheral vision, and put a hand on it to make space, I doubt he even knows it's the umpire.

That said, it' can't be considered accidental contact and Stephen May, and the two Curnow boys are going to be made an example of I suspect and will all have a stint on the sidelines. This is not a hard rule to adjudicate...

I’m going to go with Ed, one week and Charlie with a fine.

No Curnows...oh damn....what a shame...

It is intentional contact isnt' it?  I've seen several examples where players have bumped into an umpire without even knowing they were there and possibly get fined at the most.

Be great to have Jeff in for the Adelaide (indigenous round) game, his auntie designed the jumper!  Glad he has shown his class at VFL level and could be back in the frame.

The umpire seemed to be barking instructions to the players, so it would be hard to argue he was just making space and didn't know who it was. Pity the vision doesn't show his face to see if he had a glance or not. The umpire was very surprised to have someone make contract with him.

Noting that it’s hard to change a team with last weeks performance:

Out: Tyson (rest for Adelaide), Vince (rest for Adelaide), ANB (work on his kicking)

In: Viney (for Tyson), Bugg (for ANB), Wagner (for Vince)

Wagner is in there as he needs blooding, but he has the same aggression as Vince.

He’s shown some good stuff so far, it’d be nice to force him to run with someone.

I see that people (doubtless Carlton supporters) are saying it is not clear if contact was even made by CC.  Can't the tribunal just ask the umpire?

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
