There are people on here that know people in footy and therefore are happy to pass on some info that relates to our club.

The fact you don't want it to be true and you have no idea whether it is, does not give you the right to call me a nuffie.

If you don't want to know the information, then I suggest you don't reply.  There are supporters on here that are happy to hear info that is not in the open market whether it be positive or negative.

Most people don't just make things up.

People do make things up, every day, all the time.

Sometimes its complete fabrication, sometimes there is an element of truth that is then misused to support an opinion.  You also have liars, mischievous types, stirrers, and sometimes folks who believe a story but on incorrect or flimsy grounds.

However, if you believe the story, you should provide a little more detail as to how or why you think the story true.

Because the person who told me holds a position within another club that it’s his job to know

Too early to call who is more polished. When recruited together all they wanted to do was play in the same team. Trac does a knee in year 1 and is a season behind. Gus has a great first year, gets knocked out and basically loses a season and a bit. I would be interested to see how many games they have played tgether.

On the weekend, don't forget Trac spent 4 days in hospital prior to playing and was a little sluggish. That was the best game I have seen from Gus since his first year so it is a bit early to call who is better. I seem them as 2 different styles of footballer who will compliment each other and form a very formidable team with Oliver and Viney in the midfield. I like that each brings something different to the mid field and hope Angus signs up soon.

I'm glad you added that.

It's nothing more than regurgitated hearsay.  I place no weight on that whatsoever.

Thanks for clarifying.

Can we get his name right in the Title thread!

Regurgitated hearsay??! You have no idea.

Who do you think would know first about him looking at his options, the club or an external club?

Granted Trac had a decent 2017. His conversion rate in 2016 was 35% and he's currently sitting at 21% (dead last out of all players on our list) for 2018. Those are terrible numbers. He clearly has conversion issues.

I agree that Petracca needs to improve but I just found it strange that you said Brayshaw is a good set shot. I've watched countless contests between him and Jones at training and I can't see it. His AFL set shot kicking has done little to change my view.

And you can manipulate stats easily. Petracca kicks at 62% for goal over his career, excluding complete misses. He has not started well this season but when analysing players it's important to use all of the information available not just small samples that don't tell the whole story and suit a need.

This is too easy.

Managers never rule out a young player like Brayshaw leaving when he's in the final year of his contract especially when two weeks ago he didn't have huge currency with his incumbent club (from a financial perspective).  That's what managers are paid to do.  To see what options might be out there to put some pressure on the existing club.

This goes on all of the time.  But in no way does that mean his preference is to leave.  I have zero doubt his preference is to stay - assuming Melbourne's offer is reasonable.

Players "consider their options" all the time when they're in the final year of their contract.

So when anonymous posters say "I have heard he's looking around", unless it's a rock solid source, such as the player himself saying he's not happy and wants a move, I take no notice of that sort of hearsay at all.  None.

It means nothing.

I reckon Brayshaw would be one of the least likely ‘required’ players to entertain leaving this club.

He’ll be a Demon forever.

Do I know anyone who’s said this?

Nope. No one.

But I’ve followed this club for far too long, and I have a fair bit of life experience - so yep, I reckon he’ll stick around.

I want to see T Mac’s signature first though. He’s beyond important.

Brayshaw himself said he wants to be a one club player on the AFL Exchange podcast literally today.

Tracs ceiling is... well, there is none.

Gus will be a good bloody solid mid.

Gus will finish his career as a much better than "solid" mid.

He will be one of our best 5, given an injury free run.

We needed pure footballers, and Gus is certainly one of those.

Bayshaw! Please fix the thread title.

My head hurts.

FWIW out of 29 players who have played 2 or more games so far this season i have Gus ranked 8th and Tracc 11th in a weighted composition of averages.  Still fairly close and we should not forget impact of said dog bite

Gus has always been a great player, a couple of years ago I said Jack V. and Gus would be the (c) & (vc) of the club

His concussions put Gus back a bit, but he is now getting back to his best.

Trac has always had a tank problem, he is lazy. If someone can put a cracker up his arse we may have a top player.

I was at Etihad when a few players came out to do a bit of goal kicking practice.

Trac was not doing set kicking for goals. He was more interested in snap kicking. His ratio of kicking goals was 1: 5.

Eventually he kicked a goal from a set kick from 40m and scraped in past the goal post.

I gave him the 2 thumbs up and he returned it.

He then walked off into the clubrooms.

His field kicking is just as bad. he doesn't practice his craft as much as he should.

One needs to get his ego in check and play 100 minutes of football. Brayshaw is doing everything right.

Brayshaw appears to show more desperation than Trac,  A bit like Hibbo compared to OMc.

The youngsters need to improve their intensity.

Precocious ability...needs direction and application.

We all know its there..  ability....am sure Christian would tell you as much ;)

At some point, hopefully, the penny drops. He'll eat a game and spit it out. .

He's a tad frustrating.

Question - anyone know why Brayshaw is doing the AFL podcast every week? I love that he is doing it - but why Gus? Seems like he is crafting a nice little media career. Would be good in 15 years the for us to have Gawn, Brayshaw and others commentating.

Wheras I'd take Brayshaw.

Petracca might have the god given gifts.
But he doesn't have the drive to make the most of those gifts.
Reckon he'll be a frustration over his career.
Great to see the tongue has stayed inside his mouth this season though.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
