GAME DAY

Josh

Recommended Posts

ANZAC Day eve. Listened to the Sunday rub on triple M and Jay Z Clark spoke about how this game is a little look at what the AFL want to do with the grand final and I couldn't agree more.

This is fast starting to overshadow the Collingwood Essendon game tomorrow in my opinion.

I think everything is primmed for us to come out breathing fire tonight and we need too.

Hopefully the Weed gets a game and good luck to him. Weed and Lever could be book ends for the next 10 years.

Speaking of which I think tonight Lever will show why we paid so much. BOG.

Dee's by 2 points in a classic.

Let’s hope that we come out primed rather than primmed otherwise we have faint hopes of beating them by two points. Frankly I would like to see us score our winning score courtesy of the classic “kick after the final siren”!

Go Dees!

Going in after work. Really like what we have done with this game. The pre game tribute is fantastic.

Have no idea what to expect. The previous years u go confident of a win but then u think we are playing last years premiers and we are coming off a rubbish game.

If we win people will say why couldn't we do that last week and if we lose well it will be reported as typical Melbourne. But i hope hogan takes rance to the cleaners.

Although I doubt Rance went in for an extra prayer session with the Jehova’s - he may face a double nightmare with The Weeeeed having a breakout 8 goal performance. And Hooogann! Running amok on the ball and sloting forward for 4 goals.

just hope last week was a bad day at the office and tonight we will see a team seeking redemption. Tipping a draw.

If Jones is assigned a tagging role again I'll be spewing.

Paying so much attention to individual players is not a good strategy when you've got to take in the whole game as was evidenced last week.

Outgunned in the box again?

Tiges by 27 pts.

Bugger. Light rain is forecast apparently due to start around 4 pm. May impact (1) the crowd size, (2) the pre-game ceremony, (3) quality of the game, (4) the result...all negatively (for us).

Official forecast:

Partly cloudy. Slight (30%) chance of a shower late this afternoon and evening and the chance of a thunderstorm tonight. Winds northerly 20 to 30 km/h becoming light in the late afternoon then tending southwest to southerly tonight.

Gameday

Im in town for the game tonight. Where go people drink before and after the game?

Many options in richmond, all will be jam packed. depends on your type of place you like, Ive tried them all.

The Cricketers on Punt road, nice old fanshioned joint

The London - big beer garden

Richmond club hotel on Swan if you want to pick up after the game

City-wise the Duke of Wellington on flinders is alright and i think affiliated with the Dees. 5% off your drinks if you are brave enough to show your membership

Yeah that must be it. Doubt there were any valid football related reasons at all.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
