whatwhat say what 23,855 Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 unrestricted free agent at the end of 2018 https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/western-bulldogs-free-agent-luke-dahlhaus-a-high-priority-for-several-rival-clubs/news-story/cc2077bffa951a63dc35c2e287b42882 i've always liked him as a player personally he'd be another mid / forward combo player but in terms of free agents at the end of the year, i'd rather get gaff Quote
DistrACTION Jackson 10,728 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 We should definitely be in the market for a free agent at the end of this season. Vince will most likely retire and Lewis would have one year left, Jones probably 3. We are also right in our window so should throw the kitchen sink at winning premierships over the next 5 seasons. I'd have a crack at any of the following: Luke Dahlhaus Andrew Gaff Marc Murphy Rory Sloane Quote
Ethan Tremblay 31,388 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Sloane would be worth getting just for the Adelaide melts. 8 3 Quote

Not as salty as their tears. We should be chasing Gaff on your behalf Ethan. I'm sure you'd get a few chuckles out of it out west. 3 Quote

They take things very personally over here, I’d probably lose my job. Edited March 20, 2018 by Ethan Tremblay 4 6 Quote

dl4e 5,851 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I would take Dahlhaus in a heartbeat. Good player. As for Gaff I must be different from other people. No thanks. 1 Quote

daisycutter 30,021 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 bit of a coin toss between gaff and dalhaus - very similar stats, same age i'd take either (depending on price) Quote
P-man 13,367 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Dahlhaus is well ahead of Gaff as a target for mine. Gaff is very much an outside player which isn’t the Melbourne mould. Even our outside players are more than willing to get their hands dirty and win their own ball. We want versatility and Dahlhaus provides that. He’d be a big loss for the dogs. Arguably their second best player. Quote
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 No for mine. Money better spent keeping our group together. We have youth that should - all going well - be on Dahlhaus level by years end. Plus, we have a strong midfield, and there would be no point forking (a lot) for what would be a forward pocket player. 1 Quote
george_on_the_outer 7,875 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Exactly right Ding! Forget the Free agency players who are always expensive, there is far more quality to be had by trading as we did to get Lever. Quote

Fork 'em 7,052 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 They're both overrated as far as I'm concerned. Quote
BAMF 4,483 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I'm all for getting Gaff. Exactly what we need and he would be very gettable. I wouldn't be chasing Dahlhaus. We have a heap of players competing for that hff position. I would much rather spend the money on someone we need. Sloane and Lynch would both be amazing but I think they will stay or there will be other clubs who will make godfather offers to them. I don't want to break the bank. Quote
What 18,810 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 We will be spending all our spare change on Ollie Wines. Forget Dalhaus. 1 Quote

($850thou Yr1, $650thou Yrs2&3, $1m Yr4) = $3.2m over 4yrs, mostly back-ended. If we can squeeze it in. We need a mature player of his type. Edited March 20, 2018 by DV8 Quote
