GAME DAY: JLT #2 vs St Kilda

I really liked the pressure chain that Fritsch set up prior to Oliver’s goal. At each pass, Saints had slightly less time to dispose because of other pressure acts, resulting in a turn over!

Vince made best case for round one so far, well to me atleast. I turn on a stream and first thing i see is someone spoiling Lever in the air, i guess communication will get better over time.

Good follow up. We didn't get sucked in like the Saints did by being too cute and handballing excessively to counteract the breeze.

I'm also liking the front on pressure. Rarely do the Saints get a possie without a Demon coming right at them.

I still think pre season wins aren't much to write home about considering where we should be at but would be nice to get the win. Especially since I skipped the gym and shelled out for my AFL pass for the year tonight.

Really pleasing to see how much more efficient we are this preseason. Saints have more disposals but we are well up.

we have more kicks than handballs!!!

Oscar McDonald no longer listed as OUT according to the app

Been a good game to watch .. fairly full-on for a practice match.  We've played very well.   Lever is such a good acquisition.

Not only is our backline really solid but we've got plenty of depth back there (more so with a number of our onballers being able to drop back)

Roos is great to listen to as well ... his knowledge is 2nd to none.  Our whole defensive make-up was built from the ground up by Roos and Goodwin is following suit.  There is a lot to like about this list.

Loved Gawn’s response when he was soft in the contest and gave up the goal. From the next bounce he willed himself at the contest and got involved multiple times leading to a goal. He knew he done bad and he fixed it. BEAST.

I don't think we could have asked for too much more in that first half.

We played against the breeze intelligently, and because of that we ended up out scoring them.  We are playing team footy, and even if the oval is a little slippery which has stopped us in our tracks a few times, we generally have them covered across the ground.

Hopefully we keep the foot on the throat and finish them off, like we did against North, in the third term.

Salem has spent what feels like a good percentage of the game in the middle. Hogan has been good around half forward. Loving the way Hannan and Fritch have hit the contest... hard to split the 2 effort wise. Reckon they both have one eye on the other and its showing in the way they are cracking in. We have been in control all game and the scoreboard is honestly flattering the Sainters.

Tackling from us especially has been really good, but the Saints have also been going in hard for a pre-season game.

Enjoyable to watch.

Roos loves us.

Must be horrible for Saints fans.

Petracca looks classy, Getting belted and you have Roos yaking on about how good all our players are.

:roos:

First thing Roos says in the 3rd is “if we turn our focus to St Kilda”. Someone must’ve had a word to him at half time.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
